yippy I win, I have never won anything in my life. Do I win a new Hill?

Those spandex Limbskins do not change how the bow shoots at all. They also seem to keep my other bow with curves quieter. I have not had any problems with cockleburs and I can't see any reason at all not to use them for hunting.

Uh-oh, fellows! I've been e-mailing Craig again...

I call the spandex limbs covers "Bow Bra's". Can't notice a difference except it prevents "Bow Rash"!
Got some on my black Tembo now and will be whitetail hunting tomorrow a.m.

Well, I've bought and sold a few bows over the last few years, and included amongst those sold were my beautiful bocote Black Widow PLx, and my take-down Silvertip with bocote limbs. I suddenly found that the weight or shooting characteristics of these bows no longer suited. Being partial to a good bocote bow, and with the only bocote currently residing on my shelf being the riser in my heavy Wesley Special, I asked Craig about a...

Got my Hill today. I really like it. It shoots as good or better than any other longbow I have owned. How can you just have one funds pending of course. It is a Big Five with all caramelized bamboo. Cocobolo riser and tip overlays of the same. It's a stringfollow. 66" R.H. 50# at 27". It's smooth as butter. I was a little leary of going with a 66" bow due to only shooting 68" in the past. I'm glad I got the 66 er. It is so forgiving and has great cast.

First three shots at 17 yds. I couldn't wait to shoot it so I grabbed two bread ties and set the bottom knocking point at 3/8" I was amazed at how it shot.

You right Rik. I had to do some more sweet talk. I got a quiver that should be here next week. I promised not to ask for anything at Christmas time. I am very blessed.

So. . . how to covertly share this thread with out wives prior to their much-anticipated  "Christmas Purchasing" season.

Hmmmmm. . .

Cahaba, that is good shooting! Congratulations on the bow, and many happy hours to you and it!

I have used limb socks on my longbows for many years mainly as protection against damage out bush. My wife makes them from T shirt material and they are a tight stretch on fit. I don't notice any difference with them on the bows.

C'mon Ben K; you tease.    :)

Congrats on the new bow cahaba; it looks like it works fine.

Rik....I'm not sure but I think you meant to say "how to covertly share this thread with OUR wives...." instead of "with out" our wives.  For most of us it would no doubt be best to share it WITHOUT our wives though.  :help:
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Rik

David,

Your are right. Sharing such absolute necessities with our wives is mandatory. Otherwise, we have to come up with the money ourselves.

It's much better to let them think it's their idea to get a fantastic Hill bow for us for Christmas.

Boys, start your wives on page one, and the rest is a piece of cake.

As for me, I am trying to convince my wife that SHE needs a Hill bow. So far no luck on that, as she says she shoots perfectly fine with her Juniper Mountain longbow. Until I can outshoot her without a quiver, she is going to continue winning that argument.

I'm working on it though, I'm working on it.

Mr Kleinig !!!

Ben , you dastardly fellow .....  :smileystooges:
