This comment can be heard across the country when you go to 3-D shoots. It seems there is always that one target that gets this title.

Some stand out in my mind more than others, but this one,well..... " You don't want to miss this one!"

I would put a sneaky stalk to 7 yards and drill him  :)

Yeah, that's a target where you use your old worst arrow for sure!

Good plan Joe, he's looking the other way.    :bigsmyl:

Monkeyball, I'm nervous just looking at the picture...I am not metally stable enough to make that shot....

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

What cracks me up is the guys that will attempt to find there arrows.

If you look at the valley, that's what you're gonna hit.

that target was placed there by a pinko, commi, thumb sucking, bed wetting, arrow salesman.

That looks like an area where I used to hunt.

I don't think you'd want to hit one of those lines.   :scared:

In June 2000, the very first shot was a mule deer slightly uphill, slightly quartering towards, at forty yards! The master scorer said, alright who wants to start? I looked around and everyone is looking away kicking dirt around! I said come on guys this is easy! Note the object is to hit inside a two inch steel ring, where the X is for the big points! I casually pull, nock, swing draw, release, centered the steel ring! Everyone of those guys rifled around and picked their worst arrow, proceeded to miss the target, their arrows saled into the valley below, never to be seen again! That set the tone for the rest of the event! My arrow was the only arrow in sixteen targets out of twenty eight!
I had won the "Final Chapter"  Howard Hill Longbow/Recurve World Championship, held on June, 24th and25th,2000!
I was using a John Schultz, made for me "Short String" one of his all bamboo Naturals, white painted wood shafts, white fletch, little red nocks, 145 grain heads! Yeah, that's doing it the "Hardway!" Best shooting event I have ever attended, not because I made the grade, but because of the Hill mystique and all the memmorabilia surrounding the area! I had brought two of my shooting buddies with me, we visited Howard and Elizabeth grave site, causing us to miss our flight home! Still it was a very memorable event! The highlight of my archery career! Enjoy! Jacques

I don't see the need to ever place a target in that position and the clubs that do, don't get my business again. Being a "fairly" decent shot I would still pass on that target, but what about the new shooters and the younger shooters after they lose a few arrows, not fun, probably not coming back. One of our local clubs placed a target in an uncut grass field at 55 yards another club placed a target on the edge of a swamp at 45 yards, miss and your arrow is gone. I don't turn in score cards so if I skip a target or stalk up for the shot it is no big deal but I refuse to support any club that makes their money from selling "lost arrows"

Just my take on the subject

I'd just walk up to the target and shoot it- no problem.  You gotta believe. JMO

Clever how they painted that backstop screen to look just like a deep valley....
