I can't believe it    :banghead:

I shot a nice buck this year and hung the antlers in my new shop to dry out.I didn't have the garage doors on yet and I guess someone needed them worse than me.I have checked with everybody that I know and nothing.

I am crushed, The police have been informed and I have some good pictures of him to identify.

Has this happened to any of you and what did you do????

Ohhh!  That is so wrong!  and that person probably calls himself a hunter.  How high were they hanging? and how secure?  Nailed up or just hanging on a nail...  Did a critter knock em down? and then drag em off?

Tracey....post pics of the antlers here....as they may show up somewhere in a taxidermy shop.

There have been several times bows have been stolen and recoved later at pawn shots that were posted about here.

Was this the buck you just took a couple of weeks ago?

We'll....if you've got pics...I'd mail them out to every local taxidermist in the surrounding area....and offer then a reward....and have the police involved as well.....I'd report them stolen ASAP...and provide pics as well to them.

Tracy,

Contact your local conservation officer, there is always a chance that this theif will be caught. The CO may also be able to tell you of known antler buyers in the area. Unfortunately this type of crime is becoming more common each year especially in Kansas.

Was anything else of value taken from the garage? Have any neighbors who let their dog/s run loose? May want to check them. 6ft isn't that high.

Terry, Yes it was the buck from the other day.

155 P&Y points,I can send sombody the picture or can it be pulled off the thread. I can not post pictures.

Yes, Conservation officer has been called and my neighbor is a B&C scorer and he has been told and will notify the others.

Atleast I didn't have all my other racks in the Garage yet. It still sucks though one is to many

Talk to your local Official Measurer's as well...they get to see alot of deer!!!

I once had a fresh, meaty skull I'd just caped sitting on my back porch, kind of wedged in between the railing slats, and it disappeared.  Tracks in the spotty snow suggested it was dogs and a couple days later I saw the skull sitting near a neighbor's house.  Very lucky to recover it.

Yours having been tied up suggests it was a predator of a different ilk.  Bas*ards.
