Beauty, Dave.  Glad you are a righty.  I don't know if I could take the temptation if I shot one of those.

Kevin Dill

Felix...my most sincere apology for the sorrow of losing your mother. Hard time, I know.

David...my appetite is whetted, and in more than one way!

Here's to men with fine tastes...and to their bows!

Mike Gerardi

This is my new Dale Dye. 60in and 55@28. It shoots like a dream. I could not be happier with the bow. Dale put hair from three of my deceased K-9 partners in the riser. Nikko, Amber ,and Arrow. Powerful medicine. Right now it is set up for Turkey season.

Mike,  That bow is stunning!

Mike Gerardi

Thanks ISP 5353. Dale did a great job.

Dirtybird

That's a beautiful bow Mike.

The pierce points and checkering are beautiful. These bows look similar to Robertson Stykbows. Is there a connection?

Mike Gerardi

I do not know enough about Dale to give you an answer. I have owned both and the grip is very different.

Dick Robertson taught Dale how to make bows after Dale retired from being a cop. I think there are a lot of people that don't know how long Dick has been making bows. I could be wrong but I think Dick was the first to use exotic veneers under clear glass.

juneaulongbow

Cool, thanks. I remember there used to be a little info on Robertson's website about who taught him to do pierce points. I thought maybe it was Dale but it's the other way around...

Juneaulongbow, I'm fairly sure that info is correct but i'm not 100% sure.

Dale was making bows in the latter 1980's which is the first time I contacted him. He was the sheriff of Hamilton, Montana for 29 years and retired somewhere around 2005. He has been making bows far longer than his retirement. I also think he is pretty much self taught, feeling the need to preserve the sport he loves. I will call him tomorrow and check all this out.

Jim Brackenbury was using veneers under clear glass as far back as 1989, which is the first time I contacted him.
