Ken My Buddy... Remember the scene in Kellys' Heros when someone says: " So long as them Tigers are running their engines, we can sneek down to the edge of town and they won't hear us!"

Well? How's about some still hunting? Gotta be more then one way to skin a cat.

Oh yea... Forgot to add: I have yet to kill a deer with trad gear stalking and still hunting... Just sayin'.

Great jobs Jim and Tyler!  Congratulations!    :archer:

We're having 45 mph winds at the moment so I guess I won't try and sneak out early tonight.

Got out for a few hours Tuesday and didn't see anything but squirrels.

Hey Ron,
My son and I spent the day in our pine trees enjoying the rain. Saw the biggest buck I've seen in quite some time. Going to be good and frosty in the morning.
Say hi to the tribes hill gang for me.

Stumpkiller

Watched a six-point work a sapling, scratch his ear with a hind hoof, nibble away at browse . . . all 20 yards over my right shoulder through the branched of the red maple I have my stand in.  No shot but it was great seeing a totally relaxed deer that close.  Saw two other antlerless in range bot neither was "the shot".

CHecked the trail camera behind the house and this little fellow had stopped by.

Third deer this year taken with my Rick Welch Dakota recurve. No monster bucks, but all were nice clean kills with short blood trails and a freezer full of venison.

Did a mid day sit, I was thinking if the chase was on just maybe.......I had a snack and then I saw a deer 50 yards away. I picked up my bow Just in case.....then to my left, another deer. It was a big doe and she's going to be at 15 yards real quick. Just as she is going to give me a shot she turns and walks straight away....no shot. I relaxed and said to myself ....that was close. Then to my right I see the other deer coming back.......

So, as I watch her move toward me I turn on my Pac-Seat and get ready. She turns broadside at about 20 yards and looks the other way. I reach full draw undetected and focus on a dark spot just behind and above her elbow........I release! The arrow is on it's way and I'm thinking it's looking good and .....CRACK......off she goes, stops and looks back and begins to feed. I had center punched a 1" hickory sapling that was right in front of her vitals......Well at least I'm getting close.   :dunno:   I'll keep at it.
