As much as I hate to do this I'm gonna have to back outta this gathering. Work is not allowing it. Due to "fiscal" restraints we are short staffed. I already have time off for a trip to Rays the end of Jan. (which I had to fight for)and Feb is to soon after that.

I know it is going to be awesome and I really wanted to meet you all. I will regret it.

I hope that everything goes well and plans are made for next year.

Sorry to here that Mark, You probably won't be the only TGer to cancel for work reasons. Yes it will be nice to meet everyone if that be possible. With 80 some people attending it will be hard to meet everyone. We will do our best to fill you in with pics and stories ect. Would have been nice to meet you.  Peace and may God bless.    :campfire:

I just received an email from Bob Burton author of "Howard Hill Collectible's". This is part of the email I received from Bob explaining the bows he will bring.

I'm going to ask Bob if he can bring one of Howard's bows, I believe he has one or two of them.

I'm going to bring several bows made by Howard or early company bowyers

A John Lee
A replica of a bow Howard made in the 30's made by Jim Remmp for me

Getting close Fellas. Hawkinsville is the closest town to the WMA. We will be camping on Ocmulge WMA on the tract near the check station. I recommend getting licenses on line beforehand.
I have recently changed jobs but with the same company so I will not be able to be there on Sat and Sun of the hunt but will be there Monday through Thursday the week of the hunt. Hate to miss the weekend but the family has to eat and the house payment paid.I will bring my chainsaw and cut a bit of wood and hopefully some folks will show up early and we can hunt a bit and sling some arrows. I plan on a day trip up there in a week or so and will post some pics. Swamp is very dry now but that could change overnight.Hope some of you folks can come early.RC

Killie and I plan to leave at the crack of ungodly on Thursday in order to get down at a reasonable hour Thursday afternoon.  Looks like about 10 hours or so to Hawkinsville for us.  Be able to hunt Friday and Saturday.  Need to drive back on Sunday unfortunately, doesn't seem like enough time.

Uh-oh!
Whattaya mean by "ungodly"?

Well, we might have different ideas of ungodly. You Postal Prodigies might rise a little ealier than the rest of us civil servants.

If it's ealier than I'd get up to walk out my back door and be in my blind before daylight, it's too early.  That said, for this trip I'd make an exception....
