By the way, any of you folks that play or sing, bring your guitars, fiddles, banjos, dobros, ETC and for fun well try to throw a few tunes together around the fire.
Dont worry about your skill level, I sing loud enough and play loud enough that you will blend right in.
Its all about having fun, and fun we will have!

Whats up with the shirts? I sent a pm around the first of Oct, but didn't get a reply.

I am going to start a separate thread for the shirts in the future.  This has turned into more people than anticipated.

Has anyone talked to DNR about supplying a few porta potties? They might if they know about the large number of people coming.

Hey Guys,

I just got back from Louisiana and Mississippi last night, I was visiting my parents, relatives and some friends that I haven't seen in 25 years. I had a great time, ate some excellent food and drank some real good beer.

The main purpose of my trip was to spend time with my parents but I did have a chance to go hunting one day on a WMA in La. The day before the hunt, I went out scouting and found a ridge that the deer have been crossing so I place my tree stand at one end of the long ridge. Well, about 10:00am I had three bucks coming in. They were all following each other towards the ridge, unfortunately they crossed the ridge further away from where I was, and I couldn't get a clear  shot because of the brush and other trees. They didn't pass in the cleared area in front of me.

After the hunt, I got down and looked for a better position for the treestand but realized that the treestand didn't have to be moved. What I needed to do is clear some shooting lanes. I wasn't able to go back out, but I learned this lesson when hunting from treestands, what looks good from the ground, may not look the same from the tree.

I'm looking forward to hunting with all you guys too in Feb. Next week, I'll start the raffle for one dozen Howard Hill arrows with broadheads. One arrow will have HillGang Hog Hunt 2013 written on it. The arrows are valued at $175.00, and will be donated by Craig Ekin of Howard Hill Archery. The money will be donated to St.Jude.

They have deer hunts on this wma that draw over 300 people and no porta potty. I would plan for the bushes.RC

With the number of folks on this hunt--not all guys either--it could make for a, shall we tactfully say, less than hygenic "bathroom" after three days.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Even though im still chasing deer, ive started running a mental check list of things needed for the hunt.
Its a bit of a ways off yet, but closer than you think!

Question for you Ga boys and girls....

Is blaze orange required on the WMA while hunting other than the archery only areas?
