Rod is modest, he made a heck of a shot. Stalked the hog on the ground and shot it running at a fair distance after it spotted us and was running straight down the trail where I was waiting and watching from at a distance. The hog was heading straight for me and closing fast and I was hunting for a tree with out a lot of thorns. The hog had previously spotted one of us and started to leave but changed his mind shook his head came back and came crashing down the trail I was waiting and watching from. Rod smoked him and he peeled off the trail after taking the arrow. I was pretty impressed and relieved.

I LOVE west Texas!
I was down there for a hog hunt a few years ago, and ran into this guy who was a hunting guide. He said he could take me out hunting and kill em with a knife. Then I realized he probably wasn't born with that scar up the side of his face, and ask how he got that. He said "that's what makes it so exciting". "You just jump on em' and stick em', but don't get your face too close to the front".

I almost went... But then I remembered, I had spent all my money on traditional archery equipment, so I could shoot them from a safe(er) distance.

Ohhh BTW....for the record, I'm not advocating light draw weight bows for big pigs.Ive always believed in shooting as much weight as you can maintain absolute control over...problem is my shoulders wont tolerate much, so I try to maximize accuracy on game.

Great pics and story Rod. Conrats on a great shot, and a running shot at that ! Also a case history on a properly tuned setup and what a 40lb setup can do with perfect arrow flight.
