Now that's the kinda pigs I want to hunt.  BIG, GNARLY porkers like that is exactly what comes to my mind when I think about what it's gotta be like when on the perfect hog hunt.

Did you take it in an area where the public can hunt or is it private land or a hunting lodge?  Are there lots of places that have hogs like that with public access in Texas?  Gotta be more than in Florida.  Private hunting land down here is about as scarce as hens teeth.  You either pay BIG BUCKS for a lease or pay an outfitter every time you want to hunt.  Neither one of those is an option for me.  I never dreamed it would be this difficult to hunt hogs down here in South Florida.  Please tell me Texas is easier to find good hog hunting land.


Thanks for the pics and knowing that us low draw weight fellas don't have to hang our heads with our bows when chasing those monster porkers.

Rod was hunting with a friend on his lease.  Not much in the way of public land to hunt in Texas.  There are some areas and with scouting and diligence you can do well but the vast majority is private.


On another note that boy takes coaching well.  We worked here at the house on where to shoot a big pig and dang if he didn't nail em two years in a row.

You know this is to the point where I don't think I'm gonna try anymore.  Been trying to find land for 2 years and haven't hunted 1 time.  I'm just gonna shoot targets from now on.
