I'm not the kind of guy that likes to pay for hunts...I'm a die hard DIY'er when I go out of state.I have a little bit of public land near me,and I also have national forest near me but in VT that's best reserved for bear hunting, deer tracking during rifle season,or if you draw a moose tag..

Let's see some pics of those public land deer!Big bucks, little bucks, does...any deer!

Public land hunting is a challenge in itself and just getting a shot at something is sometimes the biggest reward wether you connect or not!

Would appreciate it if you can write what state and what forest/wildlife area you got the deer in.I can understand if you don't want to advertise your honey hole though.

Let's see em guys and gals!  :campfire:

Here is a Long Island public land 8pt. It was a nice spot until this other hunter moved in about 40 yards from me and cut off the trail i was hunting. I just gave up and went and found a another good spot, the life of a public land hunter. LOL

Mint, I feel your pain. It's common around here too.

Any deer taken off public land is a special trophy. Here are a few exceptional ones over the years.

6 pt. taken in NY's Northern Zone. My first deer, and my proudest moment afield...

Nice bucks fellas. Around here hunting public land is to risk being shot, even during bow season. Sad because there is a lot of public land with good deer and turkey populations around my area. If you dont get shot a crackhead will probably have broken into your truck by the time your hunt is over.   "[dntthnk]"

Awesome critter for sure DD (Chris). They dont come easy there.

Good points about public land...it's very different from one place to the next! Here in Canada there is tons of public land that you'll never see another hunter on. The public land I've hunted for the last few years is almost like private land. I know of 2 other guys that hunt there but never seen them. I can't imagine the frustration of hunting some of the states that you guys do. And to kill any animal with a stickbow there is quite the accomlishment.

Keep the pics coming....love em!
