Charlie I seen a petition they had in a shop up here in in Granville about making a 3pt rule for their unit like we have state wide in VT.It's def a good thing.Maybe someday that can get that a law.You see more spikehorns but the longterm results are better.

Now thats what I call the "Hard Way" No fences, No ranches, No gates, No feeders, NICE !! Yeah, harder, but much more rewarding ... Good Going Fellas !!

I took this mountain buck off public land in hard hunted NE Pennsylvania. Got him off the ground on a rainy morning still-hunt...one of my favorite hunts ever!!!

I'll play.

Here's this year's public land doe...

This is last year's (unconventional pic - had to find her the next day due to a crappy shot)...

Here's my son's buck from two years ago...

And here's my doe from four years ago...

Those are all from Ohio public land.  We're out now.  Need to bring in some more deer from Michigan or somewhere.   :D

vtmtnman

haha Jim,those are great deer bud.

I've fully decided if I ever get tired of VT I'm packing it to OH SOLELY based on the hunting.Even the public land gives the average joe a good shot at a slammer.

That buck your boy has...(Which is awesome and in no way am I belittling)that's a passer in OH but in VT there'd be every hunter from every surrounding county trying to pound swamps and hills for that one buck.Seriously..

More good pics everybody, keep em coming for us to enjoy.

Winterhawk1960

Ohio public land white-tail. Not a monster, but worth my buck tag for my first traditional deer. Taken on Veterans Day 2010.

What if you woke up tomorrow, with only what you thanked God for today ???

Thanks Shedrock! Man you've had some fun.

Landshark160

Killed my first public land deer 3 years ago after being trained by RC.  Killed a few more since then.  All of these are in Georgia.

Hey thanks!  You're right about the deer - it's mature (and as a bonus, was blind in the eye closest to my son - score!) but it's certainly not the king of the forest.

Fun stuff.   :)

Some of these were before I learned to take a camera in the woods with me.

A thread right up my alley... I'll boast a little with this buck.  My 2010 central MI state land buck.  Long hikes and thick swamps- nothing like TRYING to get away from the crowds.  But trying to be smarter than the rest is the real key.  Also my avatar.
