If we're not supposed to eat animals ... how come they're made out of meat? ~anon

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Thanks for the compliments gang.
I was hunting in Mercer County, West Virginia in the Egeria area. I was standing in my lock-on Thursday morning and at about 8:45am I heard what sounded like something scratch the bark at the bottom of the tree. It had been raining the night before and the wind was bad so hearing something coming was hard. I looked down and honest to God this bear had his front paws on my climbing stick looking right up at me. He had to have come from the deep hollow (loaded with laural) right behind me. First thing that crossed my mind was "somebody has to make a decission here quick". Well' the bear hit all fours and started to walk off. I said to myself, I'm not gonna shoot this bear so, I grabbed my camera and took a few quick pics then, it crossed my mind, I might never ever get another chance to shoot a bear with my longbow. By this time the bear had milled around ending up about 14 steps right in front of my stand. I slid the camera in my pocket and eased the bow up, I drew, let go and hit him right behind the right front shoulder with a 4-blade Muzzy Phantom. He jumped straight up and ran about 40 yards falling and then made that aweful death moan. The cape is at the taxidermist and the meat in in a freezer.
oh yeah' my bow is a takedown Bob Lee short riser longbow 47#s. The arrows are GT 33/55's with a 50 grain brass insert and 125 grain 4-blade Muzzy Phantom heads, some have 125 grain 4-blade SteeleForce. (total weight 450 grains).
