I've shot all three, but since I started shooting Beman ICS Bowhunter 500 carbons, they have become my go to shaft. If they smelled like POC, they would be perfect!

I love POC,but i mostly use carbon because I live in high humidity and hunt tough critters like Wild Boars.

Foxtail

It would be interesting to do this again in say 12 months time. I am sure that carbon's appeal is growing at the sake of the others.

Matt Fowler

I like ash for the weight and stumpin'.

MercilessMing

Bamboo (natural carbon fiber).

huntin_sparty

I am new to trad. bows but voted carbon.
More bows than I should have!

Carbon is by far my first choice and what I hunt with from any type bow.

I do shoot wood as well because of rules at the 3ds I shoot in.They make the primitive class use wood or bamboo arrows for some silly reason or I would use carbon in them as well.  ;)  I replaced all my aluminum with carbon shortly after switching from compound to stickbows.I only have one dozen 2013s here at the house now after giving away 11 dozen to a freind.
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

Notags

I use carbons when shooting my Shrew's, and wood when shooting my HH's. I quess if I shot any RD bows, I would have to invest in some aluminums again.

Night Wing

I shoot aluminums out of my recurves and my lone hybrid longbow.
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 42# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 10.02
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 37# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 11.37

cedar

I use wood for hunting and 3D.  Aluminum for paper targets.  Fox longbows and Blacktail longbow and recurve.

BowMIke

Carbon. Beman MFX Classics. Small diameter and with 100 grain brass insert a nice weight. Very tough as well.

basket-rack'89

Wood, hex shafts from whispering wind arrows.

Covey

I'll stick with aluminum. If it ain't broke don't fix it, plus thier CHEAP!! kinda like me! Jason
