After having a mental lapse of good judgement, I fell under the forces of the Darkside and started shooting a wheelie again over the summer.
I've since put the wheelie down and have put all my attention back into traditional bows.
I have an older BEAR POLAR recurve and a WHISPERSTIK longbow and while reading/looking at all the great hunting pictures/stories here recently, It looks like a lot more game has been taken with the longbow.
This has my curiosity going and I wanted to know what everyone here is shooting so PLEASE post what you are shooting/hunting with and pictures would be GREAT!

i shoot longbows exclusively.....but they have recurve style grips so they would be considered hybrids by most!

Longbows mostly...Pronghorn and White Bison.  I like the lighter weight to carry, how quiet they shoot, and how they can hang from the tiniest little branch on a tree.

I do have a Schafer recurve that I intend to take out late in the season.  During the meat of the season, I like to shoot only one bow.

Recurve.

Only have 1 deer to my credit .....browning wasp 45#

Killed more carp then anything else  shakespeare Necadah 40#

A backyard squirrel or two ...Herter's perfection mag 50#. Was a wonderful bow but a piece of the limb delaminated

Current bow is from Lewis Hollow Archery  46#.  Haven't killed anything with it yet.

Chortdraw

Longbow mostly. Just something about the longbow that seems right

I forgot to mention that even though both my bows are 45#@28" the BEAR is easier to shoot and a little more accurate for me. Is it because it being a recurve or something else?

One recurve and one longbow. The recurve is my favorite of the two.

All of the above.    I like the qualities of all style bows so I tend to shoot them all.

Apex Predator

Shot recurves for years, but all I own now are longbows.  I've been trying to hunt with nothing but my new Apex Predator R/D, but find myself migrating back to the straight longbows to make meat.  The last four critters I've killed this year were all with straight longbows.  These are most recent.

Shot recurve for about 12 years and switched to long bow this past year. I'm really liking the long bow.

Love longbows, but I shoot both. I like simple D shaped longbows the best.

i shoot any bow as long as it has a string but i draw the line  at wheel bows as i wont shoot em.  :wavey:

Shoot both but tend to pick up my curve more this season than the last several, have a killed a deer or two with both styles so am happy with whatever is is in hand.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

coconutdave

I have used both. Last year it was an Assenheimer recurve, this year it's a Firefly longbow, next year???
