What is your favorite MUSIC that you like to play while on your hunts?
By far the one CD I only play during hunting is the sound track from the movie Last of the Mahicans. Some others is Dances with Wolves sound track and because I grew up in the 80's I like rock n roll from that era. And of course lots of country music puts me in the stealth mode for stickbow hunting.

My favorite comes from nature and it's called silence. The birds make up the chorus.

I like the natural sounds. Sometimes a song will get in my mind, and I "hear" it over and over. I never bring a music machine or a book to the stand.

I tried playing "ride of the Valkyrie" from my stand but nothing came by that day.... Better try something more soothing.

I don't listen to music out in the woods.  I can't hear well enough without distractions.  Besides,  have you ever been sneaking thru the woods and heard something awful and strange, snuck up on it only to find some old guy with headphones and singing with the music ?  And maybe doing some disco moves ?

Seriously, my music is the wind in the trees and the sounds of nature.  Playing what passes for music is the last thing I would want on a hunt.

I'll be listening to bowhunting songs on CDs by Chad Slagle, Jim Bowman and Mark Baker during my two-day drive from Wisconsin to Idaho for my elk hunt this year. They pretty much keep things at a low boil.   :gold tooth: Never take music, cell phone or the like into the woods with me.

Muttly

I listen to the ringing in my ears, usually on auto repeat.. Kinda funny, just about the time I was starting to appreciate silence, it went away.

Zradix

I don't listen to anything while in the woods.
but...
It's a tradition to listen to Ted Nugent's "Fred Bear" on the way to bow hunt with my Buddy.

Silence works for me as well. No music please.

My arrow slicing thru the air is my favorite music. The deer don't seem to care for it though.   ;)

You seem to be the odd-man-out here. I never thought about music while hunting. Don't want any distractions. Have a difficult enough time as it is hearing what I should be hearing. On the way to and from is a different story. Growing up in the 50s and 60s, need I mention what kind I like? Truly amazing how rock and roll has endured all these years while other styles have come and gone.

Been hunting for over 30 years and I never even thought twice about listening to music while in a stand.

Silence is golden.

I'm pretty sure hes talking about music during hunting season/ getting ready for the hunt   :readit:   not while on stand

Ive played music as a part time gig for a while now so its in my head anyways. Its Bluegrass classics.

RedShaft

He may mean while at camp or on the way. I like the first one mentioned. And I'm more of a heavy metal guy.

If not, I don't like listening to anything but the wild. And my favorite is the great horned owl calling off in the morning or evening. Man that gets me. Love it

As some have mentioned before me, I believe the original poster is talking about in the vehicle on the way to camp or perhaps while in camp. I sure hope so anyway haha.

Myself I listen to a lot of classic country... It's about 45 minutes from home to the closest WMA for me....some private properties that I have access to are much closer but those are limited time and sometimes not at all! With any luck my neighbor will allow me on his property this year, should give me about 12 acres of my own back yard when the orange army comes out.

None, I am hunting and that is serious business, plus I don't listen to music very much, never had.
shoot straight shoot often

Terry Green

Don't listed to music....listen to the woods, wind and game....

If I wanted to mix music while hunting I'd watch hunting shows....don't care for head banging 'ramp up/amp up rants'...so I don't watch hunting shows.

Ok here is the deal..  I listen to the sound track from "Chicago" for the last fifteen miles on the drive to camp.  My CD is old, scratched and skips but it gives me mojo.  Well I think it does..... so it does.
After I get in camp then the wind, the coyotes, the elk bugling are my music.
