This guy Bill....

The only photos I get of him are ones with only four arras in his five arrow quiver.

He's been waiting 35 years for this kill so..... a BIG CONGRATULATIONS.

He will be along shortly with the story.

As soon as he gets back from the Taxidermy shop.

Such fun we have in these Florida woods.

Well my hog hunting buddy Tom Gauthier and myself are enjoying another great hunt at Irv's Hog Camp. Irvs been putting us on plenty hogs this week.

We had a cold one with  Irv's former partner Jim when we first arrived last week. Jim offered to let us hunt the original Dead horse ranch, which we did last night. The pigs weren't moving, pretty windy.

It was about a half hr before dark and I was enjoying the antics of the five coon, six squirrels and two cardinals when something caught my eye through the floor of the ladderstand....A large BOBCAT!!!

About the same time the cat saw me. It just stared straight up at me and what seemed like through me, you know that feline glare! It was right at the bottom of the ladder. I quickly raised the bow up off my lap, which caused the cat to switch ends, but not run, big mistake! In one continues motion I drew back out away from my body to about 3/4 draw and with my string hand six inches from my anchor, instinctively let the arrow fly.

The arrow drove straight down through onside shoulder and out the bottom of its  chest. The cat hissed and jumped directory skyward what looked to be 4ft in the air. It continued to battle the arrow for ten yards until it was done.

At this point two of the coons that had just been being stalked by this predator came loping over and started biting and scratching at its head. They actually cut its face open! Wild thing to watch!!!

Been bow hunting 35 years and this is my first bobcat!!
Never gets old!!!

Hopewell Tom

What a beauty, nice shooting.
And a wildlife drama to go with it. Fantastic!
