Season started this past 27 of november, and the rut kicked in last week. I am amazed of what a beauty of an animal whitetails are and how they graze silently thru our woods. They are so unique each with different racks, faces, scars.

I am using this thread as therapy, I could call it Psychotherapy.

Usually I am not to picky on trophy bucks, I learned the hard way thru several seasons of tag soup, but this year I have controlled myself to use the one and only tag I have for a great buck, not a monster buck, a great old, well lived , well traveled fullfield buck.

A buck that deserves my respect and will be given an honor place on the wall.

Last year I used my tag early in the season , and I dedicated myself to hunting javalina thru spot and stalk.

On one of this hunts I entered the woods, and I jumped a doe. I quickly came on my knees as I usually do when I jump an animal and just stayed there and didn´t move at all. After 20 seconds of just staying there I felt thumps on the floor and some movement toward me. It was a buck that was trailing the doe, It was an old 12 pointer, that encounter lives with me and we had eye contact for more than a minute at 15 yds. I had no tags left and I could only enjoy the time and moment with him.

A friend of mine placed a trail camera close to where I had this encounter and this year he came up. I am pretty sure it is him

If not, he is a great old one, not too much points and measurement and etc etc. But he is a buck I want and fills my criteria of old, well lived and big buck

I'm with you Gerardo I'd like to read the story if you connect with that Old Man...

The way those antlers roll out I think we need to name him Elvis....

Just hope he don't leave the building  :)

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.
