On one of my trips to Zacatecas, I spent the day exploring Chicomostoc. There they had a display of many arrow points that were found on the site. Many were very small, and excellently made. I can imagine it must have been very exciting for one of our early ancestors to hunt the Gould Turkey or Coues Deer with the stone point and primitive bow. :-)
I have also spent alot of time hiking in the mountains of el Ocote. Beautiful Country.... and so remote it brings you back in time.
You are lucky to have such a great museum in Monterrey to preserve your ancient history. Many Trad Gangers I'm sure would find it very interesting.

Gerardo,   :notworthy:  for your restraint, that is a nice buck  :)

Your season is already better than mine was. Good luck!

you are a better man than me passing up that deer. Happy hunting
That map with all the subs on it which one is coues. I have live on the board a few times and I know that area 3 in the northern part has coues. I lived in souther AZ and could have spit spit across the board chasing coues there.

Gerardo

KellyG

yes area 3 is coues, they are very difficult bucks, ghosts of the desert

You dont have to tell me, I tried them with a bow. I had several chases at mature bucks but a doe seen me or we would see each other at the same time. I can think of 3 buck my last year in az that were close two less than 20yrds and one at 40yrd and I just ran out of cover. I will go back and try agian someday. Unlike any white I have ever hunted they trust their eyes period if they see you they are gone.
Good luck
