Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Friend

Tried several when I was first joining, however every one I chose had already been taken. I must not have been very creative.

I just knew I wanted to be an active contributing member of this group and chose 'Friend'.

S.C. Hunter

Well I use USMC 82-86 on another site and tried to use it here. But it seemed some or all was in use and since I was born and raised in South Carolina I went with S.C. Hunter. It's where I started hunting and it will always be home in my heart.

OkKeith

There were a few Keith's on here already. I would have felt bad if some thought they were me.

I'm from Oklahoma. so OkKeith worked.

In a moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.
Theodore Roosevelt

Mine is a common name for a movement of music from Renaissance lute suites.

57Loader

I always have a hard time coming up with something creative for a name.  When I worked in a parts department for caterpillar there was an order next to me for the 57Loader.  Which is a 994F Wheel Loader that can pick up your house in one scoop.  My screen name is the same on about 4 different forums since that day.

jarhead_hunter

Mine was easy.

I was an active duty Marine for 22 years.

I have been bowhunting for 40+ years, started when I returned from VietNam.

Coonbait

I'm an avid trapper and make all my own lures and baits. One day me and my family were fishing at Pymatuning Lake for carp without any luck. There was a gentleman and his wife fishing right beside us pulling 10 pounders in one after another. I asked him what he was going to do with them since he had about 6 of them in this huge cooler and was letting the rest go. He said he was going to eat them and he didn't have room in his cooler for any more. I then asked him if he caught anymore (since I stink at catching fish) could I have some? He said sure but what did I want them for and I said coon bait. He gave me 2 really nice ones that he had just caught and I thanked him over and over. I turned to show my wife the big carp the man gave me and her and the boys were heading to the truck. I carried the fish and all of the fishing tackle back to the truck myself. I get back to the truck and ask my wife why and the world would she leave me there to lug all of our stuff, and she said she didn't want the boys to see me get punched in the mouth! Women?

straitera

When I was a kid growing up on the farm, a man's word was good. Or, he was straight as a string. Straight era is naturally a play on straight arrow.
Buddy Bell

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

Red Tailed Hawk

Always loved the screech of a red tailed hawk to break the silence when hunting.
I'm drinking from a saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed

Claypipe

Mine came when I was doing some living history of the 1840's.  A good friend of mine is living history interpretor at the Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton, OK.  One weekend they were having a rendevous to educate the public and I was volunteering.  Some of the guys there asked me what my camp name was and I said I didn't have one.  I bought a new clay pipe that friday and broke the stem several times while holding it in my teeth.  By sunday the bowl was mighty close to my face and everyone in camp was calling me "Claypipe" and it stuck.  Every time I go to the museum to help out, I am Claypipe to all.
I love animals!  They're delicious!

GWC

saumensch

saumensch means pig-man, and thats not because i hunt them but because i sometimes smell like em.

There was a old timer wrestler named Igor Putski who claimed to be the strongest man in the world. I was a young man and was throwing 150lbs kegs of spikes on a truck by myself (I weighed about 160lbs) and one of the crew called me Igor and it stuck.
