Delicate question guys.

Someone recommended I buy these arrows, they are really stiff, but I'm trying to tune them. I'm wondering if I should continue or sell them.

Do you think they probably should have recommended a lighter arrow?

it would take alot of weight up front for those to fly good.i shoot 53# and i shoot full lenth 35/55s with 200gr. up front.

I doubt you will get them to tune.  Sell them and buy a lot lighter arrows.

It depends on the bow.  I'm shooting a 53# Griffin and my 55/75 seem to shoot fine.  Still messing with them though.  Mine are 29.75 BOP w/ 50 gr brass insert, and 188 grains for point weight including the adapter.

I've been shooting 55/75s out of a couple of bows close to that poundage. Just have to load up the tip weights. 350 gr up front and cut to 31.25" ad they are flying like bullets out of several bows in the 51-54# range.

35/55's are the way to go for that draw weight...

Wow, 350 grains. Geez. Unfortunately, my arrows are 28 inches.

Ya I would go with some 35/55 GT or Trad Lites.

Both my Firefly's and my Selway longbow love 55/75's..31.5", 100 grain brass insert, and 200 tip.
Arrows come out at 623 grains, and I've zipped them through whitetails and an Antelope.

My bow's are 53@29 and 51@29"...

according to the spine calculator those should work with 100gr. inserts and 175gr. to 200gr. points.

My Big Jim Buffalo bow is 51# and I'm getting the 5575's to fly pretty good cut to 30" with 100gr. inserts and 125gr. points but I haven't played with it a lot yet; Just setting them up according to the spine calc.  On the other hand I'm shooting 3555's out of the same bow and they are cut to 30" with 100gr. inserts and 175gr. points and they fly like darts for me even though the spine calculator says they are way underspined.  Go figure!

The lenght of 28" makes that already stiff arrows,way too stiff for your set up.If you don't need to hunt dangerous games with a very heavy shaft,the 55/75 super front loaded,choose a weaker spine arrow.A 35/55 cut at 28" can still be froant loaded but more balanced for your poundage.

And then there is center shot of riser in the mix. I don't know this bow, but my Morrison is cut 3/16 past center...shooting 29.5" arrows, 28.75" draw, and have 260gr up front (brass insert & 160pt)and they're WEAK!!

I shimmed it out to Center and can get up to 275 total weight.

Oh...  BTW, that is out of a set of 48# limbs!

Center cut of riser can make a huge difference w/ carbons!

52 # Widow PSA...55/75 GT cut to 29.5"s, 50 gr insert and 145-175 points. Perfect flight. And, bareshaft perfect.

My milage is very similar.

Load up the front if they don't spine go down to 3555.

They should work depending on center cut.

for comparison, im shooting 27.75" 5575 traditionals with a 100 gr insert and a 200 gr point out of a howatt hunter recurve 54# @ 26"

I use 5575s from Black Widow @ 53# with 31" draw and love them.  I have 250gr up front on 32" arrows. Bare shaft even out to 30 yds with no problems.  I even use them out of my 55# Firefly LB- same shafts and set up.

Yeah, center cut is what's killin' me. I might try to load them up, or maybe unload them. LOL

I used 55-75 in my 54@ 28 Great Plains. Cut 29" with 100 grn. inserts and 125 grn BH or FP. They flew great for me.
