Pointer

I guess we're all different....I draw 31" shoot 52-54lbs and use those same arrows off of just about any bow I own with either 125, 145 or 175 up front with no problems

It doesn't matter what the spine calculator says, if they don't spine they don't spine.

I shoot 35/55 from my longbow 46@28 28.8" with 245 grain up front

I have not bare shaft tested but I can shoot the same arrow out of my recurve limbs 52@27 by dropping the grains to 200 up front, but that will put it at about 8.8 gpp.

I would use the 55/75 with the recurve limbs.

I came from nothing and I brought it with me.

I have the same results as Pointer. I draw 31"s and shoot off a bear weather rest. I shoot 55/75s full length and they bare shaft perfect out to 30 yards with 125 or 145 grain points. All my bows are around 55#s and all shoot the same arrow well.

You need 3555's or any 500 deflection spine. My bows are all in the 46 - 53 pound range and mine likes the 3555's or my Easton trad only 500's.

I'd sell them and go with 35/55's. All my bows are around 50# @ 27" and I shoot the 35/55's with 125-225 gr up front on all of them.

I shoot those same arrows out of three different bows 2 longbows that are 48# at my 28" draw and a 55# recurve with 200gr points cut to 29" and they fly like darts out of all three. Tried 35-55 with the 48#ers and could not get them to fly good at all.

I would go with 3555 like most say.I shot 5575 out of my BW recurve 59@28 with 175 up front at 29" .

Center cut is critical, and unless i missed it, I don't see what it is.  If you are center our out from center I would think for sure a 500 spine.  If you are cut past center 1/8" or more with the strike plate on, you could load up the front and be fine.

My Nap flipper rest is as far out as it can go. The screw isn't long enough to go past center. So, I think I'm stuck with point weight or 3555's.

I shoot 50# at my 29.5" draw lwngth and I shoot  30,5" - 55/75's with 250gr up front (100gr brass insert and 150gr head) and that works great.

I would think with the adjustable rest you should be able to make them work. I have some full length 35/55s I would get rid of.

screamin

I've got 2 longbows, 52 and 54 #'s. Both shoot a 29.5" 5575 with a 50 gr insert and 180 gr head.

44# @ 28", about 0 center cut, draw 30.5" (Aprox 51#), 31.5" GT 5575 with 265gr total up front.

Remember that a single inch in arrow lenght for a carbon arrow makes a big spine difference. So your 27" is absolutly not comparable to a 30" or 31" one.

Lots of replies. You guys are awesome!

Let's see, 18 people posted draw weight, arrow length, and point weight. That gives an average of:  #53, 30.30" arrow, 230 grain points.

Some with longer arrows shoot heavier points, some with shorter arrows shoot lighter points, so no trend there. Likely it's arrow rest position. My arrow rest is maxed out, so I have to look to point weight. They're at 280 now, so I think maybe go up 25 or 75 grains (my bigger points increase by these amounts).

If I'm still not digging their flight by 355 grains up front (geez, foc 27%), I might sell them and pick up more 2018's or try 3555's or maybe a new bow since the rest is ticking me off.

Frank,  after bareshafting at 20 and 25yds yesterday I found the 5575's were way to stiff for my 51# Buffalo bow.  They were cut to 30" with 100gr. inserts and all the way up to 300gr. points!  The 3555's flew like darts for me.  I think you'd be better suited with the 3555's.
Chasing my kids and my degree for now but come next fall the critters better look out.  ;)

Remember the key is the side plate cut.  It changes everything.

FrankM

Kenneth, 400 grains, that's bad news.

FrankM,,,On the other side of the coin,,I shoot mostly Bears and Assenheimers,,45-51#'s,,and don't like alot of weight up front,,I just recently bought my first doz carbons,,GT 1535's. Cut at 29 1/2" w/2grn pr inch weight tubes and 145 grn tips,,total arrow weight of 466 grns, they spine heavier than 1916's and fly very well for me,,Just another option,,,,,,Mike
