I use a possible bag and attached to the strap is my bushcraft/skinning knife. Inside is energy bars, calls, water. Cell phone in pocket on vibrate although I carry it for emergency calls out, not to take incoming calls. My back quiver has an outdoor knife strapped to it (Ka-Bar Marine Corp knife). I carry no extra clothing. I wear wool underwear, a wool top, and a wool hood. I go in at a pace that keeps my temperature down and my awareness of sounds and movement high. I stop frequently to glass the area and it ensures I stay cool.

I carry my day pack - it is an old Cabelas day pack that I modified. I added Army Alice pack shoulder straps and hip belt. I added an Army 5qt soft canteen, modified with a straw on the inside. I also added an old 8-arrow bow quiver from an old compound - mounted on a piece of leather. I use a small velcro mounted 3-arrow bow quiver on my recurve.

I mostly just carry any extra hunting gear in my pockets. I'm not in any danger of becoming lost or needing a lot of "survival" stuff where I normally hunt.

Cool poll idea

Always a backpack, but that ranges from a small 2300ci expandable for day hunts where I carry my gear in 1-5 miles with the plan on bringing that and a quartered or boned critter out.

Backpack hunts of 3-12 days it is a 4500ci with camping and hunting gear on my back for all situations and the ability to pack out my gear and game in one trip, though depending on the situation it may require multiples trips, ie hike out is up to the truck.
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

Most commonly, I don't cary a pack at all, because most of my hunting is done on my propety about 10 minutes from the house. When I am taking ghillie suits or folding turkey decoys, I have a fabric pack that I got seceral years ago from Cabellas. Most of the time my vest carries all the extras I need

I carry a bow, some arrows, a pocket knife, some TP, and in the summer hunting hogs, a bladder canteen.  Bill
