Chris
I picked other cause I wasnt sure how to vote this.
When I hunt the ground from natural blinds I use a fanny pack.
When I hunt from my climber or treesaddle a back pack.
More bows than I should have!

I carry as little as possible, so if I do have a pack, its a small fanny pack.  I've found that the older I've gotten, the less I've needed in the woods.During the rut, I'll sit all day, so I'll bring a bit of food and water.  The few things I do take with me, I can fit right in my pockets.

I always have just a regular backpack on when I am hunting everything but small game.  People kind of look at me funny when they see me have it while walking in Ohio woods, but it is nice to be able to carry everything you might need.  It saves having to worry about running back to the truck after stuff that you just can't stuff into pockets.
What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?

Never leave the one you love, for the one you like.

Deer hunting?  Here?

My climber; bowhook; harness/tether and occasionally a camera.

I'm a minimalist, deer hunting.  I've been afield enough times to know what I don't need.  So, I don't take those things.

Depends on where and what I am hunting.I carry a day pack if being out long.I just carry a small flashlight and knife in my pocket for most morning and evening deer hunts.
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

Elk hunting I typically take enough gear to be able to stay out overnight, not comfortably but to survive.  There are way too many hunting situations that require different levels of preparedness to pick just one type of pack.

I mostly stand hunt for deer so I carry a backpack to carry most my outer layers of clothes to stand then get dressed when im close....helps prevent me from getting too hot and sweating, espeacily  when its real cold.

I like a backpack. I might want to carry alot or a little. Either way I carry a BP! Jason

I carry a backpack.  I like to be prepared for whatever might happen.  Water, first aid kit, space blanket, field dressing, etc.  I learned long ago that it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

This is all I have on me, plus my bow ofcourse. If you are a minimalist in the woods as I am, you will love this pack. It is designed to open when your thigh is parallel with the ground (sitting) or perpindicular (standing). You'd be amazed at this things versatility and the storage design is second to none.

best $10 I've ever spent. I say $10 b/c there is a discount supply store online that I always have trouble tracking down. But they sell this for $9.95. I would recomend it to anyone heading in the woods.

Usually just what I can carry in my pockets.
Blessed be the Lord my strength; which teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

That question was good, but we all do a lot of different hunting in different ways.

Going to my tree in the south 40 I wear a fanny pack or stuff things in my pocket.

Walking the woods in a ghillie ot just sneaking and I have things in my pockets only or maybe in a pocket of my quiver.

Going out west I always wear a pack that holds much more stuff.

The answer really depends on what hunting and where ..

For small game hunting I have my hunter's orange vest and my backquiver.

During deer season I take:

1) My little rotating hunting stool, fits in a little canvas bag
2) My backpack with cleaning gear in it
3) Hunting knife and gutting knife
4) Longbow and bow quiver

I want to hunt with a backquiver this year. Not sure how I'm going to swing that and my backpack. I may have to switch to a fanny pack.

I carry a fanny pack if Im stalk hunting or using a natural ground blind. I carry a pack when treestand hunting. I need the extra space for clothes. I dress light going in so I dont sweat. I can better regulate my body temp stalk hunting by taking my time and taking regular breaks.

I always have to carry my cold weather gear in my backpack when walking any long distance and sometimes short distances.

I get really hot if i walk in with more than a t-shirt on even if its in the 20's

My buddies think im crazy but when i do this i can cover ground to my stand quicker and once i get there my body temp is pretty high so when i get all my heavy clothes out and put them on i rarely get cold.

I picked fanny pack. But other times I carry my backpack, It all depends how long I am hunting for, and what I am hunting for.

I don`t think you mean a day pack is the same as a backpack.That`s why i voted other,because of useing a daypack most of the time.Unless I`m small game hunting,then I`ll use a fannypack.Because I use a back quiver.

I usually hunt from ground blinds or still hunt so I only take the bare minimum. I use a possible bag and in it is cell phone(on mute),some munchies(trail mix, granola bars, etc), a couple of bandaids(with antibiotic stuff on them) and a canteen of water. If I decide to still hunt I will drop them at a known land mark and proceed.  :archer:
