Yeah, I'd like to see any picture you might have. Now I am thinking of going with a 68" Tembo. That should be about the longest I could handle at 5' 10". Isn't that what longbows are all about?

Mag the length of the bow will determine how it feels. I have two Hills a 60" Big Five that is real snappy, very fast for a Hill and I have a 68" Cheetah that is the smoothest bow I have ever shot. I love them both. The Big Five is my hunting companion and my Cheetah is a my Range bow. At 5'6" they both work real well for me.

If you take a look at Craig's site he now lists in stock bow, there's a 70" Tembo waiting for you

Some shots of my Tembo built by John Schultz about 40 years ago--just got it back in January.

David, Awesome bow you got there! Is that brown or black glass on the back? Looks like the classic combination of some of Howards bows. Love it!

Spanky, thanks. The back glass is black.  This bow shoots incredibly well.  I got it off the classifieds here and she's a dandy.  I have no idea as to the history of this bow but it has hardly any evidence of ever being used at all.  Craig tells me that from the serial number it was made when John Schultz was the bowyer and dates to the late 60's.

By the way, she's 68", draws 55@28, and left handed.

Very nice bow David, I like the "old school" look. I have a tembo on order as we speak. It should look like yours except mind will have brown glass on the back. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks for the pictures. Glen

Hi David,
is the bow string follow? If it is can you post some pictures stringed/not stringed?
Thanks in advance.
Marco.

David Mitchell

No, Marco, not string follow, but I'm toying around with getting one to try.  There is one on the classified at LW that is a brand new LH string follow Hill, just a tad too heavy for my likes--she's 55@27.  Good looker.  I'd be all over it if it were 5# lighter.

Hi David, last year I bougth from Craig a string follow Tembo (carbon & lamboo) the best HH bow I never owned.
Marco.
