L.H. Custom bow, my good friend Lester makes that and they are just sweet.
Ask me about CTO.

For 100 more I would get a Big Jim Thunder Child.
BigJim Thunderchild 54" 52# @ 28"
BigJim Thunderchild 56" 42# @ 28"

Chromebuck

Big Jim, Thunderstick, Mowhawk, Liberty, Kanati, Thunderhorn Coupstick, Toelke Plenty Coup, Big River, Bama, Stewart Slammer.  All great bows you could pick up new for right around your price range.  Remember that form follows function so whatever you get as a first bow doesn't have to sport premium wood vaneers and horn overlays which come with a higher price.  My favorite hunting bow at the moment sports black glass limbs both back and belly.

I've yet to try one, but those Big River bows are on my got to try list and they are $500.00 with a 5 week wait time last I checked.

Best of luck on your journey    :campfire:

Unless you are buying used, $500 is only a down payment for the top names.....

I bought my favorite bow, a used Griffin longbow, right here in the classifieds.  Saved me a couple hundred bucks and a few years of waiting.

I'm not telling....lol Mainly because I don't know what I don't know...yet!

There are a few "Hill styles" that I just love and love to shoot but I am always watching for a good used one that I can pick up just to see if it makes enough of an impression to have one built for me.

I'm talking "Hill style" that I haven't ever had the chance to shoot.

God bless,Mudd

What's is good here with 25Ks members you'll have that many answers.LOL.
But buying on the classified will aloud you to resell for the same price the bow that will not fit you.
