One of the prettiest places I've ever hunted is near Rocky Mount, VA. My friend Bob and I went out stump shooting on a Sunday in rifle season(can't hunt on Sunday).
He lives on the property in a house built in 1849!There's nothing better than going out the door and walking to your stand.

Living in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, there is a varied terrain in which to hunt, from farmland to ridge tops.  Here's a few photos from near my home.

This past spring admiring a complete 8 point rack found in a creek.

Jacob and I found a nice rub!

My best friend and I with his first elk that I got to watch him shoot.  I miss ya Bob.

A cedar that appears to have been struck by lightning or set on fire.

Me one day when hunting sheds near home.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I have hunted all the land you see behind me in this pic and then some.

A few other shots.

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Here are a few pics of a favorite waterhole stand of mine. 2 pics were evening and 1 is in the morning.  Alot of rain before the season opened made the waterhole about 3 times the size it normally is.

Yellow Dog

Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge and a couple of pic's from Iowa.

Find the 150" in this pic. Hint--he's looking at you.

Well Yellow Dog, I give up.  My first instinct is to look right in the center as most people center the subject in their pictures but it's the most open area of the pic and I don't see any deer that I can be positive of.  I see stone and deer colored patches but no rack anything that even looks like a tine.  Guess I need some help and a big arrow pointing to the deer....

There is a tiny speck of white in the left center about an inch from the edge of the pic sticking out from behind a tree trunk that looks like an ear but that's as close as I come.

Here's a couple more.  Mostly from late winter walks and shed hunts with the kids.  They love it.

This one was just a cool looking vine.

The boys Jacob and Emmett taking a break.

Of course, there IS a reason why I like to hunt this spot....

We got caught in a bit of rain and took advantage of a thick cedar tree.  Jacob thought it was a good time for a piece of string cheese.

And here is all three kids.  Lindsey, Emmett and Jacob.

Ben,

I don't see anything for CERTAIN there but above the dark spot real close to the tree trunk is what appears to be a tine.  I saw it before but discounted it because I couldn't connect it to the rest of a rack. To make sure we're looking in the same place, I'll talk you in to it like my brother and I used to do when hunting together.  There is a smallish, leaning tree behind a straight tree a little right of center in the picture about 4 or 5 inches in diameter, the second branch on the left side (Can't tell for sure if it's coming off the leaning tree or the straight one) goes all the way over to the large tree left of center.  The thing I'm looking at is just above that branch close to the larger trunk and below the dead leaves.

Still can't tie it all to a deer though.

Trout Creek Mountains-South East Oregon, in the Traditional Only area.  Photo is looking south, into Nevada, that's my brother on the outcropping.  We were  watching a band of bighorns on the opposite side of the canyon, we were looking for mulies.

Old Scab Mountain, Washingtion Cascades, that's Mt. Rainier in the background.  Hunting was slow, so I climbed to the summit for some photos.
