Ignore the shotgun. It is pretty Texas hill country, though!

Dang it. I hate red x's

The size is right...does Tradgang support Picasa or do I need to get a photobucket account?

Here's a pic of an early snow storm from my stand back home in WV

Here's a different view from same stand...

and finally; here's a pic of my glowing orange arrow in a tree after missing a nice 8pt the same day...Hahahahaha

one of the areas I grew up hunting is an old 'turn of the century' farm that's completely overgrown, save a couple bare spots.   occasionally theres an old growth tree or two.  like these:

Here is a pic of some marsh hunting...

CAN YOU SEE THE DEAD DEER IN THE PICTURE??????

This is on public land that is only accessable by boat.
Most hunters stay in a floating camp or they tent out on the camping ground.
Here is a picture of my houseboat early one morning on the management area

This last pic is of my access to hunting ground.  I have to play the tides sometimes.  In this case, I ran my boat to the spot in the mud and by the time my hunt was over I had 6" of water to get out.

Mudline through the swamp right after the river fell out.

A fine persimmon.  There's about 7 more within 20 yards of this one.

Some prime hog habitat.

Yes, that's fresh rootin'.

Well, here's a pretty picture of our favorite place early in the autumn...

Same place a bit later in the year (beware the dreaded shoulder frogs)...

And again later in the winter...

J.Cook, love the pics with the snow flying!  My absolute favorite conditions to hunt in.

Grabwad, like the pics of the willow thicket with the trail through it.  Looks just like a willow thicket I hunt along the Platte River here in MO.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Here's a pic from the stand where I killed my buck last year. You can see the funnel in the distance.

Dave, if I was still hunting I'd through an arrow throw that buck. looks real.

Yea King, it'll make ya do a double take that's for sure.

Funny story, I posted this pic last year on a thread about using decoys.  I pulled it up at work one day and showed it to one of the guys I worked with and was telling him about the decoys when another guy walked up and asked about the picture and I said that it was one that I took recently when hunting.  He stares real hard and asks, "Did you shoot him?  Looks pretty nice!  How many points?"

I'm sitting there thinking "Huh?"  I said, "Look at it close."  He looks some more and says "What?  The doe looks big but I'd shoot the buck for sure."

I said, "Aw, come on!  What's wrong with that deer?"  He's sitting there looking and the other guy couldn't stand it and finally says, "Look at the legs dummy!"  It STILL took him a couple seconds to realize they were decoys.  Gave us all a good laugh.

Wallcrawler........super picture, love that mountain. A man could make a career out of that place. You are a lucky man to be near a place like that!
