Took my Ancient Spirits Sequoia takedown out to shoot this morning with some new arras. First shot, I think my glove somehow caught the knock, which is a loose fit on my string, and basically resulted in a dry fire. I gave the bow a quick exam, and no harm done, it seemed.
Four arrows later, it blew up on me. This was the nicest bow I ever owned, not only gorgeous to look at, but as sweet to shoot.

That's horrible but at least you weren't seriously injured. Do you think you can salvage the limbs and get a new riser?

  Man, that hurts just to look at it. I can see why you feel sick. That was a beautiful bow.

Looking to the picture again, is the second limb salvageable?

i feel sick just thinking about how you must feel sick.  i have dry fired a compound bow, and when checking it for damage, dry fired it again!  terrible things happen and i feel for ya!

I think one limb is salvageable, but I'm guessing it would cost close to what a new bow would go for to save it. I will contact JD Emerson about it. Fortunately, I escaped injury on this one, unlike the time a white oak board bow that I made let go on me. It took a while for the bleeding to stop on that one ...

Sorry to hear about your bow, but Glad you weren't hurt...

I've had dry-fires on many of my bows in the past and none of them resulted in that kind of damage - is this kind of damage typical?
Gosh, that is a beautiful bow, too....

That just sucks.  I am glad you are o.k.  She sure was a pretty gal and it's terrible she had to go that way.

Get ahold of Timthefuelman on here, he's got a few of his bows. He may be able to get you in touch with the bowyer as i believe they shot together at ETAR. From what i understand he may be able to help you out and maybe even send you a replacement until he's done, he's pretty cool like that. Tell Tim i told you to talk to him. Sorry about that man......

do you still have a warranty on the bow?, if not, still give him a call and see what kind of a deal he can make ya for another one, I had a longbow that did not even have a warranty on it(small time bowyer)and snapped on me at full draw, when I told him what happened, he made me a new one for a third the original cost
