GingivitisKahn,  They were called cookie cutter broadheads by bowhunters back then.  Not too many folks tried them  but  a few did.  Back when modern broadheads were in their infancy, folks were trying to find ways of making them more effective.....some did well.....some did not.  Thankfully, the cookie cutter style was short-lived.

I would rather see cover photos that weren't so "5th Avenue" on TBM.   I liked the cover and would like to see more simple shots such as those.  What the cover needs is more kids and ladies.

I thought the vehicle looked like something you would see on an African safari back in the 50's or 60's---along with a bow of the appropriate era.    I thought it led in nicely to the story about Bill Negeley.  I like the historical articles about bowhunting TBM often prints.

Thanks George - I knew someone here would know.  Those dudes don't look like they'd penetrate very well.

When i saw the fadora my first thougt was Fred pulling into a long forgotten hunting camp and getting unpacked. Then jumped inside the mag for the good stuff.

Don't see anything wrong with it myself.

Maybe some would rather see a PSE coyote leaning against a 4 wheeled atv type thing with a doo rag hanging off the handle bar.   :goldtooth:

Course, wouldn't be anything wrong with that either. I buy it for what's inside.

I think that truck was a heck of a lot older than that bow. Either way, I'm interested in what's inside.

That Bow Rocks, last summer I bought a bow of that year and that make off a co-worker for Fifty bucks with a bear back quiver. Well it got me thinkin to shoot it at the last shoot I was at.I smoke those who I shot with. For Being a forty eight year old bow they couldn't touch me. I,m sure Fred Bear was right there with me..It's all about respect and remembering those before you.

Hey Fred,I know you whooped me at that shoot but do you have to tell everybody.lol.You really do shoot that old bear well, though, you better hang on to it.

Oh, so it' s a truck. Doesn' t bother me. I like the bow, but wondered why the rusty old locker has headlights...  :D
The older I get, the better I was.

It is interesting how folks view pics.

My first thought of the TBM cover was that it was an old safari type truck with a resting bear polar after taking game in Africa.

For me it's hard not to like any pic with a bow in it. Articles are for the harvest pics.
