I loved it! A nice old truck and beatiful old bow. Some of us old guys get a tear in our eye when we see this stuff. For those that never rode in a truck like that, you all missed something. Seeing that even brought back the sound of those old beauties purring down the road and no radio blaring. Just gramps puffing on his pipe and me thinking it was neat to be with him on the way to town for supplies. Thanks for the memory!

ronnyg

It looks like an old 5Ton or Duece and a half from the army, maybe one that has been left in the desert for a while.  I've never been to Africa, but my first thought was Safari in Africa.

NorthShoreLB

didn't get mine yet, but it sounds like a cool cover, now I'm curious

my fav so far was the one with the longbow and the morells. I would like to see a hunter gather theme.

Kingstaken

I'm sure the person responsible for the cover was trying to show how bows and trucks of the same age when left along will lQQk better then the vehicles of the time. Right Craig?
If anyone ever saw paintings by Peterson with the ghost images whould appricate this cover.
If Fred was in the picture wearing that hat then all thought would be "WOW what a great cover"!
So I feel ya should lQQk beyond what you don't see and imagine what you think is missing.
I see my Grandfather standing there who has moved on to the big hunting land in the sky.

Oh, well, they can't all be everybody's "best cover ever" every month. Though I preferred the composition of the previous cover, it was cool to see the truck in the picture. In my part of the country, trucks that old are either garaged or all rusted away by now. Too much humidity. Nice to see a shot that could just as easily be from "those days"!

I'm with Ronnyg, I immediately thought of African safari.  I started having flashbacks to all the stories I have read about Fred's adventures in the Dark Continent...next thing you know, my stressful day got alot better!  I guess you could say I liked the cover.

GingivitisKahn

I'm still trying to figure out the cover from the Feb/Mar issue.  What the heck are those rings on the  broadheads?

Bonebuster

TBM is no ordinary magazine.

The photo is supposed to make us think.

We cannot all think the same thing.

I like it... I think.

Long time ago ( I was a teen),  I saw a movie at a meeting of the Ishi Archers---Fred Bear and a friend were the hunters, and they hunted mule deer.  Their chosen conveyance was a Model T---the mag cover reminded me of that film.  I liked it.

I thought it was ok...but they are THE trad mag...and if they want a more , we are it....they need  better covers...
Imagine if every american worker would work there day being 51% better than the average person  workring in the USA, how great would that be...why not TBM...go for it TBM!!!!!!!

I just love having TBM arrive in the mail!

TRAP

I thought it was cool.  Especially the choice of a less collectable bow than others of the same time period.  A Couple of old clunkers hangin in there.  Trap

I thought it was different too, funny thing is look at how it got everyone talking about it. Never judge a book by its cover comes to mind. Great magazine.

Great cover!Great magazine. Just look at all the reactions to it.I hope they don't change a thing.

Someone scan it and post it, so we can all critique it.  :readit:

Interesting cover and one that I believe some of us a little long in the tooth can relate to. I happen to have one of those old red glass Bear Polar's and it's in great shape. Needless to say, this cover struck home with me. I loved it.
