Willy, you have come to the right place to express your joy, there seems to be something special about Hill Bows and those who love them. Im not sure if its bow style, nostalgia,  carrying and shooting something as graceful as a wand or what, but those who choose to shoot them, seem have an unsaid brotherhood, and a great appreciation for this style of bow. Congrats, and welcome. Now to the important part, when do we get to see pics?

WillyOfTheHood

Hey there, moleman!!
I'll try to attach some pics, as soon as I figure out how (LOL!!))
Working on it now....

moleman

Willy, i would help if i could, but my wife does all my dirty work when it come to pics( bless her)
My lack of patients with PC's has cost us one computer and several parts and pieces over the yrs,
needless to say, im banned from anything except written posts.   :banghead:

WillyOfTheHood

Okay, This is my first try at using photobucket--so I'm just going to apologize in advance if these don't come out right when I post them (LOL!!). These are pics of the Wesley Special that I mentioned in my earlier post!!

moleman

Very nice! I can see many yrs of pleasure shooting that fine piece. You gotta love the Hills.   :notworthy:

WillyOfTheHood

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that all of those holes in the target in those pics that aren't right in the center of the vitals on that deer must have been shots by my wife (and I also suspect that some of the neighborhood kids sneak into my yard late at night and shoot at my targets- LOL!) because I NEVER miss the center of the target!! BTW, I also have some beachfront property in Az. I'll sell to anyone who's interested!!

MT Longbow

That happens at my house too, it must be a neighborhood thing.....If I ever find the lousey shot that keeps putting holes in my fence he  is in for some trouble!

Looks like a beautiful bow, William! I like the ebony.

Now that you are rolling with the posts, it should be said that  there's nobody that should hold back here, it should be about anyone with interest or who shoots the Hill style bow(s).

MT Longbow

I just saw the movie the Avengers, the archer just need a Hill bow to be a better team player!  Sill cool to see the leather gloved archer go at it!

It will be another month or so before the snow melts enough to get into the high country, so for now, my bow and I will have to content ourselves with hunting bear in the foothills. They are starting to green up nicely.

Things are already off to a promising start. A week after picking a likely spot to attract a bear or two, the action has already begun. I checked things yesterday afternoon, and the bait site had been demolished. Logs rolled away and brush scattered. This is a great start.

Ah yes, I almost forgot. This may be a first for the Hill Bow thread, but I would be remiss if I did not share this photo. Those of you who hunt bear will understand why I was excited to find these all around the bait. Yep, there be bears here.

So I packed in more food, added a boatload more scent to the area, and backed out to let them get used to things one more night before I hunt them. Tonight will be the first actual hunt of the year. That big moon last night should have had them out and about and feeding all night. It certainly looked like a hunter's moon to me!

Nice pics of your hunting area!

Thanks for sharin' the great pics Rik!

That's some fresh bear scat for sure - doesn't look like too  large a bore size...

Good luck on your hunt!

Bud - nice photos of your Big 5!  Enjoy!

Shoot straight, Shinken

Nice lookin rig Bud!

I'm realy interested in that quiver, did you make that?

Bud,

I love the rail fence in the photo.  It helps to set the "timing" of the picture.  If the photo had been black and white, it could have been a picture of Howard's bow on a break during a NC rabbit hunt!  The Big Five looks great and I love the yellow feathers.  I use yellow for my winter roving arrows because they are so much easier to find in the snow - not that I ever miss my target!!!

Thanks for the great photos.

Shot my first field round today at the club shoot.  28 targets out to 50 (limit in VA for traditional).  4 x 28 arrows out of my Tembo and enough found paper that I wasn't too ashamed.  A few more people wanted to know more about the Hill style.  This bug is still contagious...
