That is beautiful!!  A looong way away too!

Rossco7002

Wow. A ton of nice Hill style bows just sprang up in the classifieds - if I didn't have a Half Breed on order I'd be buying for sure.....

If'n you boys will start walking now, you should arrive just in time for the Longbow Safari to start, and MAN will you be in great shape when you arrive. Then, just stick around for six weeks or so and you'll be here for the opening day of elk season. In tip-top shape and rarin' to go.

A perfect plan if I do say so myself.

Shinken

That would certainly be a MOST-excellent plan Rik!

Who will be up for the challenge?

NALS is only T-7 months and counting!

Shoot straight, Shinken

Well Rik,
I better put on some flippers and wax up the gear to get over the big pond in time. Man, THAT`s kind of a Duathlon...... woooohhaaaah.

Anyway, it`s a beautyful scenery there and with the great fellowship of longbow addicts it should be so much fun. Yearning, yearning... yearning......   :archer2:

Rik and Nate,

Let us know when more details are available, please. I googled the safari and there isn't much info yet, other than it's being hosted by the Idaho Traditional Bowhunters.

Also is there an RV campground nearby that you would recommend? If I drag the 22' trailer out, I might get the boss to take a road trip with me. She doesn't shoot, but likes to camp as long as she can plug in her sewing machine...quilters are like that    :rolleyes:

Looks like great fun in a great place. I haven't been to Idaho since I was 11 and it was dark most of the time when we went through on our way to visit relatives in Oregon. I think I want to see it in the daylight now! Thanks for the teaser pics!

Russ;

There are unlimited places to park your RV on site but soory there would be no "current" bushes to plug into. Now in Stan;ey-about 6-8 miles from the NALS site there should be some campgrounds with electricity but not very many.

Thanks, Kelly. Six to 8 miles is workable. Now I have to work on the boss    ;)

Russ;

Most that use campers in the mountains always have Generators with them and use them as their electric source and to charge up the batteries.

Like I said, there are some RV hookups in Stanley but not very many and since this is just after 4th of July they could be full. If you can get by with using the generator then camping spots are unlimited and free on the National Forest where the NALS will be held. And there are several campgrounds nearby that have outdoor bathroom facilities but no electric/sewer hookups. Just basically parking/camping spots.

In case you didn't see there WAS a Miller Expedition for sale in the classifieds.  Not any more.   This one is coming to New Jersey.  No 8 month wait for me.  It's right at my specs and I am thrilled to own and shoot this truly unique longbow.  Thanks deathwind.  Time to party!

Mike,

Congrats on the Expedition, I was sorely tempted myself. That's a rare find. Please let us know how it shoots for you.
