Go get 'em, Rik!  Thanks for the photos.  The wind has sure been blowing this weekend.

We have twelve more days until the general archery season opens in the middle South of the state.  Hopefully, there isn't too much snow on the ground, like last year.

I'm wanting to post a story I've been going alot, I've just had a lot of luck. Bad luck.

However a bad day hunting sure beats working.

Aussie Stickbow Hunter

Excellent photos of your hunt Rik, thanks!

That's some beautiful country Rik! It would make a big change to hunt somewhere like that as opposed to the eastern Ontario swamps I'm in that offer 25 yard visibility MAX. Enjoy that mountain air.

"If you're living your life as if there is no GOD, you had  better be right!"

I see on  short limb long limb argument on another thread that if all things are the same longer limbs are faster. Back when we were all shooting metal handles Bear take downs, we found that a 60" set up with the longer riser and the shorter limb was faster than the 60" set up with the shorter riser with the longer limbs, I know that would not be an if everything was equal comparison.  Anyway if this is the case why are we not all using 70" longbows?

Ground Hunter

All of my many Hill longbows are 70 inch.  Getting ready to order another.  Speed was never in the equation - stability was.

x2... except for the "getting ready to order another" part, as I just got one! Perhaps a Crocodile next year...

My 70" hill is by far the most stable bow i have shot!!!

Got back from a few hours in the woods and found this...

Then opened it and went straight to a bale I set up for my winter range (i.e. shootin' off the front porch)...

Then took it back inside for a few more shots...

Thanks Dave!!

Man this thing is light and smooth! Now that I have shot a true Hill bow I'm leaning on the "what hand shock?" side of things. These arrows are not exactly what she wants but they did pretty good for an out of the box group.

Looking forward to this weekend so I can shoot it ALOT!

Nice bow Bud. You should pack it and some arrows, and drive to Maiden for one of our CTA monthly 3D shoots. Next one is 2nd Sat. in Dec., but I'll probably br hunting that day. I need another Hill shooter to shoot with.

Four laminations of bamboo 55@27. 66" and slender as one would want.

I thought it would be a bigger handful than it is but it fits nicely. I can get the arrow down to my bow hand just like shooting off the hand only.

Sah-weet!!  :)

Hey Gerald, I have a new Redman that needs tuning! Hows the Tembo and Big 5 doing?

far rider, I reaaly like the Tembo. Starting to get used to it. It does sling an arrow! Still waiting on you to come and shoot with ua. Maybe that new Redman will push you over the edge? How's deer season been for you? Slow for me so far, but I hope to hunt several days next week. Thought I was getting a shot 2 different times (does), but they made a wrong turn just before entering the danger zone. I hope activity picks up as the moon wanes.

Gerald
