The first ShrewHill is done. 68", 48#@ 28". Bamboo and yew with clear glass, bubinga riser. She's very slim in the limbs and riser, weighing less than a pound.

Awesome bow Ron!    :notworthy:    :clapper:

So who else has gotten on the ShrewHill list?

She shoots great. It has more speed than I had expected, Gregg thought so too when he shot it. I think the fact that the limbs are so trim and light has a great deal to do with it. I had told Gregg to make a B-50 string, he didn't like the idea much so he also made a 450+ string but he said he was surprised with the cast and lack of hand shock using the Dacron string..    :archer2:   I'm very pleased with our first effort thanks in great part to input from John Lee.

Mr.Laclair,

Are you shooting B-50 or the 450 on the new ShrewHill?  What kinda brace height are you running on the new bow?  Love the look of that bow!  And the white arrows are really a cool, cool match.

Rob,

The slide show you created made me realize all over again why I love longbows. Thank you for making it. I suspect we could fill up another slide show with even more great photos without much effort. I will have to rummage around and find a few more to share in the next couple of weeks.

Now, for those of you who live east of the Rockies and have been suffering through the sweltering heat wave, here are some pictures I took in the high country yesterday that might help cool you down a bit.

The first one shows some of the flat gentle country at the trailhead down by the river. Easy hiking down here.

Not many trees down there in the flat country, but once you gain a few thousand feet in elevation, you start to get into the real mountains. No grand vistas here, this is deep and dark elk country where you are lucky to even get a view of the far slope. There is a cool mountain breeze blowing though the pine, can you feel it?

I saved this one for last. This water just melted out of a the snowbanks above. It is C-O-L-D. And Clear. And wonderful. Put your toe in there and you will have goose bumps all over. There were elk tracks not far above the creek.

i've been updating the slide show with about 1/2 dozen of the recently posted images to this thread, i think it's gonna get real big ....

I've tried both the B-50 and the 450+, I like the B-50 dacron string best on this bow. It may be a tad slower but is has a nice humm to it and I like that.   :)  The brace height is right at 6" and that seems to be the sweet spot.

Hi guys,
some days ago I submitted some question about hill bow handle and now I think the answers are in the new Shrewhill; there I ask to Ron the dimension of Shrewhill handle (depth, thickness, hight) and how is the profile (string follow, straight or backset). And some more pics.
Thanks.
Marco.

Ron LaClair

Marco, This bow has a handle of 2 1/8" deep,1" thick and 4" long. The limbs are straight.
