Good on you Fred! Rick's bow is beautiful. Love those limb veneers!!! Is that the tamo ash you were considering? Looks a little like quilted maple to me.

Het Mike I'm gonna take a couple days off from working on your bow .  I have a short trip planned to ND.  Bow is tillered and looking good.  About half done.  Chad

Flatshooter

Thanks Chad! Have a good trip and be safe. Looking forward to seeing more pics of the build when you get back.

Chad just called. He will be shaping the riser and gluing the overlays and tips in the next two days. Bow will be completed at the end of the week!

Tom, I believe flatshooter went with spalted maple veneers. I too am anxious to see them.

Hoping to get some pics in the next few days guys. I did go with the spalted maple limb veneers. Chad thought the black streaks would compliment the bocote. Bow looks like it will come in at 48# @ 28". I gave him a range of 46-49#. Looks like he nailed it!

Flatshooter

Tips are done! Now final shaping of the handle, some work on the overlays and off to the spray booth!

Riser shaped, filler brushed on, limb veneers sanded and ready for spraying. I hope to post pics of my finished bow soon.limb veneers should look awesome against the bocote riser. Can't wait to start flinging arrows!!! She draws 49# @ 28"

Flatshooter

Yeah Tom, your bow was an inspiration to me for sure! Can't wait to see the veneers after they're sprayed!

Hey Fred, has Chad started your bow yet? Looks like the cocobolo/bocote with cedar limbs already sold!

Michael, No not yet, that's why I want him to get yours done    :biglaugh:   Yeah, I saw this morning that it was sold.

LOL... Chad said "a couple of days" yesterday. Wait, I think I hear the saw blade and grinder humming now!
Hopefully, yours will turn out just the way you want it. If not, there doesn't seem to be an issue with Chad moving stock bows. I couldn't believe that bow sold so quickly!... It was a beauty!!!!
Waiting for other guy's build pics is like doing it all over again. Just plain fun!

Man, that is looking awesome! I am a copycat and am doing the same riser, but I am trying to make a final decision on veneers.

Michael's bow will be sprayed tomorrow or Friday, ship next week.  Why didn't you post the picture I sent of the other side of the riser, with the thumb rest.  I thought that was the wild side!

Donovan's riser is glued up and in the oven.  Waiting for the veneers to show up.  Should be here tomorrow or Friday.

Fred I glued up a longbow tonight with the your veneers to make sure they will work out, since I have never used them before.  I thought it a good idea to do a test run.  I will send you a picture tomorrow of them.  Your riser is prepped to glue the Lazy s but I want to let it sit for a week or so to bring the moisture content of the Chechen down under 10%.  It is at 12% now.

I has been a very busy week.  The phone has been ringing off the wall.  (If we still had a phone on the wall,  LOL)
