Last year when Kent posted about a RH demo bow he was sending out for the lucky right handers folks to try out....I commented how I would love to try one of his bows out if he ever made a lefty.

Being such huge longtime fan of the belly mounted limb, forward risered Kwik Styk recurve....I have naturally always been drawn to the Timberghost take-down longbow as it is very similar.

I always just kinda figured that if there was ever a short longbow that I would really be able to shoot good....it would be something like a Timberghost.

Well, out of the blue one day back in May I get an e mail from Kent that he had a lefty made up and he wanted me to see what I thought about the bow.

He sent these pix along with the email...

To say I was a little excited would be an understatement...I mean look at that thing!

But at the same time, I didn't want to get my hopes up and set the bar in my mind too high knowing what I'm used to shooting( I think I'm spoiled by my KS 'curves).

I've been sent demo bows before to try out that honestly didn't turn out to be what I thought they'd be.....I hoped this one would be different...especially after the reviews from the righty bow from last year's thread.

A lot more to follow....and a bunch of pix and a couple video clips as well to watch the limbs bend.

I'll leave you with 2 words till later....Very Impressive!!!

Hopefully Kent can chime in on anything I can't...

Some spec's on the bow...

The bow is overall a tiny 54 inches...

The beautiful riser is only 11" long and made up of Bacote, Zebrawood, and black phenolic. I believe it's cut 3/16" past center...

Limbs are made with I believe Bacote wedges, not sure what the wood lams are, but I know there are 3 layers of carbon in there. Tips are nice and small and are built for new string materials. The belly side of the limbs have a Zebra overlay on them where the limb bolt goes through...

Not sure what the string material is on the bow...Kent would know...

Cores are actionboo and string material is D10. You're correct on the rest of the materials. Glad to hear you like it.

Bowwild

Neat looking bow. Doesn't appear it comes in recurve version on the website?

Looks like the butt of the limb pulls away from the riser pocket, doesn't seem to fit right?   :dunno:

Yep, Kent can make a fine bow. I shot a very short recurve that he brought to Bear Quest with him. Very smooth drawing bow.

Gotta get my website updated, I build static recurve limbs for the same riser.

So the bow comes in and I anxiously unpack it....Kent's pix didn't do it justice....it's gorgeous!

Get it together and can't believe compact and light it is....but I'd soon find out that this little beaut is no joke...

One of my concerns was that such a short longbow wouldn't feel very comfortable at my near 29" draw....WRONG!!

I own two short longbow's, both 58", honestly neither of them have the smoothness of draw past 28" that this little bow does. It feels like it just cruises past 28" with ease.

Who would have thought!  I have no idea how Kent does it, but whatever he's doing...it works!

When I was getting the bow from Kent, he asked me to let him know when I got it.....this is my honest initial reply to him after I got the bow....

"Kent, Got the bow bud. We shot about 50 arrows through it and all initial impressions are awesome!!  We luv it!  As of now I feel it's the best shooting 3pc. longbow I've ever drawn and shot....more later....."

Maybe it's the fact that the feel of the bow, because of it's design is so similar to what I'm used to, that I felt so comfortable....I don't know...

The smoothness of this bow is something I surely wasn't expecting....but is gets better....

I feel absolutely no finger pinch, I mean at all...

More on performance tomorrow....how about a few more pix...
