Thanks Charlie. You are correct, the static I hope to have done this week would be yours.

Hit & Miss

If the bow happens to come up to be test driven in the future,  I would like a shot at it. very nice lookig bow.

Bud B.

Kent Roberts - WOW!

Very nice bow. Being a Hill style shooter for almost two years I am quite fond of the Hill style and no non-Hill bow has gotten my attention like this one. If this bows does get passed around I'd like a chance at it.

Well done Sir.

I am a lefty and really like my Morrisons and Toelkes, but like Bud this has caught my eye.

I would also like to be on the list if this bow or better yet a Static is past around. I know about Statics since my Morrison is one of Bob's premier riser and limbs.

How a bout a couple short video's of both cade and I taking a shot so you'all can see the limbs in action at both a short draw...Cade 24", and my 29"...

Fine craftsmanship...
•
•

The graceful line of the limb...
•

Again, the thinness of these little powerhouse limbs blows me away...
•

If anyone has anything specific they'd like to see a picture of, just let me know and I'll get one up for you.

Anyone with a question, just ask....if I can't answer...Kent surely will....

How long is wait list curt/kent? Curt I also noticed the way you grip the bow , it looked like I do mine. Somewhat high and the pressure of grip rest in the meat of the base of thumb. Kind of straight wrist. Basically s high wrist recurve grip is what I like. Is that what that bow lends itself too.
How do you think those limbs compare to say a Shawnee or centaur as far as performance

Current lead time if you get on the list now should have your bow finished late November/early December. I pretty much grip the bow the same as Curt, kind of a high wrist grip. You can see from some of the pics Curt took I leave a little extra width to build in a bit of a thumb rest and put a little angle and palm swell into the grip to promote that consistent hand placement. I can also adjust the grip higher or lower to your preference. I've never hot a Shawnee or Centaur so really couldn't comment on the performance comparison, Curt might be able to.
Thanks

kent, do you offer any variations in the grip, such as much lower and straighter - more like a typical r/d longbow locator style grip?

Rob
I can do a lower grip and still keep the same amount of deflex in the riser. Depending on how low it would probably work better with the 13" rather than the 11" riser due to having more room between the throat and where the butt of the lower limb meets the riser. Don't know what length bow you're thinking about but I could go as low as 56" on a 13" riser. If you want to send me a pic of the grip you have in mind I'll take a look at it.
Thanks

kent,

while i don't shoot with a high grip, neither do i use a low or medium grip either.  however, only the bow hand thumb meat touches the grip as the pressure point, while the rest of the hand just touches (sans pressure) the lower part of the grip.

iow, i do what the high grip guys do, only with a "broken wrist".

high grip guys like curt are actually holding the bow in the old 60's "california high grip" style, where the wrist stays straight in line with the thumb meat (where the pressure is on the grip).

gee, too many words, i need to post a pic.    :D

Guru-
The limbs of the two bows you are comparing the thickness of.  How do they compare in width?

Hey Bud, I do shoot with a straight grip (old compound days, late 70's-early 80's)and have always shot a "low wrist grip" and here's why...

When I ordered my very first ever custom bow from none other than the late Paul Schafer....when we talked grips and how I shot with a straight wrist, I thought I needed a high wrist grip.

But Paul recommended, even though I shot the way I did, ma low wrist grip on the bow.....his way of thinking was that there would be less of a chance of torquing or any other bow hand issues with a low grip.

Minimize contact = less problems...

It made sense to me and every bow I've ever had since has been with pretty much the same exact grip as my Schafer.

I'd say the grip on this bow is medium grip compared to some I've seen and shot....very nice though....I bet you'd love it!

Like I said, I don't have a chrono....but I guarantee this bow will shoot with any high performance longbow...any!

I'd even go as far as saying it will out shoot most recurves....just my observations....

In this pic you can see they are a bit wider, which would make up for some of the thinness.

Seem to be much lighter in physical weight.
