Congrats, Whip.

PS: Always trust the dog. Its hard with pups until you gain confidence in them, I know. Guaranteed we mess them up more than we help them on track though.

Arlo, You done good....real good.

Joe, I, guess you done good too.  Have faith in the dog,  most often we need more training then they do.

Congratulations!

Greg, thanks, about fell our of my chair laughing
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

So where did you end up hitting exactly?
Although all's well that ends well, I really messed up on my part of this one.  I pulled the shot far right and ended up hitting just in front of the upper shoulder.  The broadhead I think was stopped by the spine where it drops down toward the neck.  It never entered the chest cavity, and while there was decent blood on the ground it wasn't outstanding.

Most of the blood was collected in the tissue between the shoulder and the ribs - unbelieveable how much blood was in there!  The arrow had stayed in him the whole way, and I think that really contributed to the damage that was done.  A good testament to a scary sharp three blade!  Broadhead was a Woodsman Elite.

That broadhead was stuck behind the shoulder and came out real hard. A good chance it was doing more damage as he was running/walking. All the blood you would expect to find in the chest cavity was under the skin and shoulder. YUCK!!!
