Congrats Joe. Great deer and outstanding story. Thanks for sharing.

DeerSpotter

Way to go Joe !!!

I see retirement can be fun, and it looks like it improves the size of the deer.

One thing seems a little fishey here though. I have yet to see the dogs OWNER mentioned in this story.

If I remember correctly that puppy was bought as a gift to sort of soften up a certain person due to a LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG trip.

You mean she LETS you borrow her dog to help with your, should we say, "Other than adequate shooting skills"?

Good point about Arlo's owner. Arlo has a standing invite to come to my camp. I will have to run that by his owner and if nothing else Joe can bring him.

Kenny Y, you know her too well.  Getting Arlo away from home is getting harder and harder.   Now when I  call all she asks about is how her little boy is.  Didn't care much about my deer, but wanted to know all about how he did with the tracking.
I can't compete with him.....

That deer looks a wee bit familiar to me, Joe!!

Those smaller brow tines up your way threw me, thinking I was looking at a whopper 6pt last year and by the time he showed his brows... I'd lost confidence...

Nice job! Dead is dead... archery isn't always as neat and clean as we'd like, but with good perseverance, things work out for dedicated hunters!

Congrats all around...so did your "guest" get to whack a doe or not??  :)   Or did you steal all his luck?
