How about trying heavier arrows to quiet the bow down.  One of the things I love is the light carry weight of trad bows.

Looks like you need to weight some of these bows to know what actual weight you are looking for. Then post the weights. Most people never get a chance to pick up one of the bows you are talking about? Ken Denton

I don't own, but I have shot, a Silvertip T/D longbow.  The riser isn't particularly heavy.  I'd rate it about mid range in weight for T/D longbows.  You indicated you had an ACS.  Changing to an aluminum riser would be about as heavy as you can get with a takedown longbow.

Bullfrog

Stewart slammer 3 piece. Not my cup of tea but pretty heavy with diamond wood or cocobolo.   BILL

Anybody shoot or shooting one of sixby's longbows?

Most all of them can become heavy. Just bought a Thunderhorn with Micarta in the riser. Its a very small risered bow but is heavy with the micarta.

I forgot about the Stewart Slammer, the riser was too heavy for me and like Bullfrog "not my cup of tea" so I moved it shortly after getting it.

I have a Hummingbird kingfisher with a lot of phenolic in the riser. It adds a lot of mass weight and makes it dead in your hand at the shot.LCH
