Need Your Excuses

This was inspired by Magnus . I thought I would make a book/pamplet from all the excuses I can come up with for missing a deer/animal. I don't know if it will be publishable, but I'm going to try. So, this is what I'm asking. Can everyone come up with as many excuses as they can and type them here. I will be using you screen name if you don't mind. I would also like your input.

There was a limb, stick, twig, leaf, etc. that I didn't see before I shot. That deflected the arrow.

Deer backed away from it.

Deer used a Jedi mind trick on me.

Deer made effective use of cover.

Deer was evil manitou shape shifting spirit.

Squirrel climbed up my pant leg and distracted me.

Hit my arm guard (I learned that one from Bowhunting October Whitetails video).

 We can always blame it on the wind.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.
