Both Lone Wolf stands are good stands.  They both are light weight, climb like a dream, and pack very light.  Having said that, the hand climber's seat leaves a lot to be desired in the comfort department (after an hour or so it feels more like torture) but other than that I've got no complaints.  TRW

I just bought a sit and climb.  I talked with Lone Wolf and they said that the bad rap on them being uncomfortable was mostly to blame on their older seats.  The newer ones are supposed to be more comfortable.  I never tried an older one so I can't compare.  I can tell you that in my practice sessions with it, I found it easy to climb and very stable.  I could shoot my 64" longbow out of it from almost any direction save behind the tree.  As for being light and easy to pack.  I have to disagree there.  I was surprised at how heavy the stand is.  I am use to a Timbertall that weighs only 13 lbs, and the Lone Wolf seems really heavy.  I now have the best of both worlds.  I use the TimberTall platform and the LW sit and climb top portion.  It is light weight, easy to climb and very stable.

Thought I would throw in my two cents.

I love the hand climber, but have transitioned to using an assault and 4 sticks. Now my climber just collects dust.

Going with the assault has given me a lot more options on which trees to hunt out of.  Just throwing that out as another option.

I have a hand climber. Didn't really like or care for the sit and climb. Probably why they make the two models.

I'll have to take a look, but someone had a good idea on how to fold the seat up while up in the tree for those who also like to stand a lot - like me. I guess it gives you a little more room. If someone knows it first hand, I'd sure appreciate the link.

That's the truth!  I had one of the original LW sit & climb's with the black nylon sling seat and it was fine if you didn't want to sit in it any longer than... I don't know... say... 10 minutes!  The new one is much better.  I also like it because you can flip the "sit bar" under the seat and have no obstruction in front of you like most sit & climb's.

I have the sit n' climb and love it. its comfortable enough for me to stay in all day. I get in about 30 mins to 1 hr before daylight and stay in it till dark. I have found to not carry anything in my back pockets thou.

This works for me.  The seat and bungie also work great without the platform for natural ground blinds if you have a handy tree.

Thanks, I'm bringing a bungy with me next time!

I have multiple climber stands, but only one that I use now: the LW sit and climb.

Mine is not the most comfortable (it's probably about 8 years old), but I can sit all day in it.  It is not the lightest to carry a long distance, especially with the old style nylon straps....buy the "harness" style straps they now sell.  I have no problems shooting any bow out of that stand.

I have one of the really light TimberTalls.  You can carry that stand all day if needed, but it is by far the noisiest stand I've ever been in.  You need to cover any area on those aluminum tubes with tape or padding that you may touch with something or otherwise every deer within 300 yards will know which tree you are sitting in.

Although I own one, I don't care for the LW hand climbers (or any other hand climber for that matter).  Not my cup-o-tea!

Buy the newer LW S-n-C....its expensive, but it will last a long time.  The newer seat looks much more comfortable.

I also have many of the Alpha hangons with LW climbing sticks, but mostly use them for "uncooperative" trees that I want to put a stand in.  Most normal stand locations have another brand of 20' climbing stick with an Alpha.  The LW climbing sticks are nice, but I don't want to have to put them up in the dark unless I have no choice and I have never considered them a substitute for a climber.
