I got my ticket to "Sherwood Forest" and had it punched today.

My J D Berry "Heritage" 68"(stringfollow)47@28 is a true ticket to "Sherwood Forest" for me.

With each shot taken it's as if that ticket gets punched.

I know it will take some adjustment mentally but I think I'll get it mastered mainly because I can't seem to quit shooting it.

I literally had to make myself quit today because my muscles were starting to twitch after a steady stream of arrows for almost 3 and half hrs.

I love the experience of shooting off my hand/knuckle, it takes me back in time.

I am so pleased at the wide range of spine of arrows that it handles.

Here is the main reason for this.

There's just not much for the arrow to have to bend around.

I expect great things with this bow but most of all I expect to have fun shooting it almost as much as I did as a child in southeast Missouri when my older brother and I had to share a bow.

God bless,Mudd

Not sure I would like shooting off my hand, but that is a beautiful looking bow!!!     OE outdid himself again.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Ron, the only time I feel the arrow is when I draw the bow, loose the arrow...Nothing. ..OE

Wow Mudd!!!! You really did get the train to Sherwood this time! A bow Robin Hood himself would be jealous of, heck I think Maid Maryin is gonna leave ol Robin for you after this!!!!!

James, you just keep getting better and better, I did not think that was possible!!?

Roy,

I'll have to get over to your place to try it out, if I can pry it out of your hands.

Good work, James!

I haven't been back to the computer for awhile but I have a good excuse...out shooting!

Anyway here are the ingredients that make up this beauty: brown glass on the back followed by tempered bamboo then toasted maple under clear glass with an 11&1/2" of Bolivian Rose wood for the riser.

The toasted maple just "pops" with its "tiger striping", you don't even notice the clear glass.

I am a glutton...... evening found me back in the yard flinging more arrows.

I may have misplaced my 1st arrow with it at last light.

I had walked over to my neighbor's house to show Michael "The Heritage", he wanted me to shoot an arrow straight up...lol I sorta did it.... but just kinda plucked the string and the arrow flew a good ways up and came down in his yard.

Then we had a little discussion about where the arrow might have ended up if I had actually come to "full draw". That's when I got the "brain storm", it was only a little over a 100 yards and a privacy fence away from where we were standing to the back stop in my yard.  This was more than double any distance I had shot with this bow but I didn't let that stop me...lol My 1st shot wasn't where I wanted it.... a tad short and somewhat to the right so basically right into a huge clump of pampas grass...lol My second shot was on the backstop and easy to find. The 1st arrow may show up today...lol

I have begun picking up a few trad bows to go with my selfbows, just got a nice monarch thanks to Scott. A Barry is on my list but I dont see the heritage on his list of bows. Is it a special request? I have gotten from posts that there is a waiting list should I get on it now for years from now or months from now? Any help would be appreaciated. No place on the web page to sign up for list, do you just call and get on the wait list.
And Mudd that is a sweet looking bow I like the shooting off the hand.

Give James a call, and he will put you on the list. As far as wait goes, I am not sure. At one point it was 10 months, then dropped to 6. What it is only he can say.
It's a new model, so he doesn't have a link for it yet
