When I ordered my first custom bow late last year, I told the bowyer a draw weight and left the rest up to him.  He went with Jatoba riser with black walnut limbs (bamboo cores) and I love it.  The dark red riser goes great with the dark brown, and the walnut and bamboo accent stripes look great.

I've grown to like the plain Jane looks more.  I have a "green leaf" widow I love and standard black, brown, or green glass catches my eye.

Cocobolo riser with bocote limbs.

But, my bowyer (Allan Boice) is allergic to cocobolo so he just made me a curly walnut riser with Myrtle burl limbs. Man, what a beauty! I'm almost glad that he couldn't use cocobolo, because I will likely not ever see a wood combo like this one.

**DONOTDELETE**

I think the most popular combos have been Black walnut / curly maple accents. And Macassar ebony with bloodwood accents. And zebra wood / Bocote is very popular too.

**DONOTDELETE**

ooops!   here is the bloodwood accents with Mac ebony. The previous had mosaic accent lines with myrtlewood limbs.
