They say a front is moving in tonight. Okay! So, when do I know that the front is here? After it passes? Cause...once it passes it's no longer a front. Is it? Wouldn't it be the middle?
Or...is it the middle of a front, or the front part of the back? Or perhaps, the back of the middle of the front? And what in the heck does this have to do with hunting with a bow and arrow; other than the fact that you don't have so many mosquitos buzzing around your head?

You see now, I not only have to be ready to shoot properly, I have to know when the front is coming and the front is passed. Then I have to know what the moon is doing in conjunction with the front...or back...or middle.

I liked it better when I just grabbed the bow and went to the woods.

Personally I like to be in the middle of the fronts. Always gives me a chance to surge forward or fall back. Depending on the conditions, and attitudes.  :bigsmyl:  Tough hunting though, swirling winds.

I just don't like it raining on me  :D

Moon is more important. When the moon is in transit is best, plus or minus a few hours. Then you have the underfoot time, give or take an hour or two, along with the minor feeding periods in between the transits. When the cows are laying down get ready for snow:)

I actually think of normal things.  You know...like what kind of DNA could you extract from a slug's trail.  Nothing complicated.  It's the simple things that I ponder too much.

Now, I understand there is (according to The Weather Channel) and "Artic Front" moving in.  What the heck is that?  Are we going to see a line of rubber boots marching through the area?

Weather people are funny;  whether or not!  I always thought it was Arctic.

Killdeer

If they had used the term "Arctic", I would have granted the story the credibility customary for the output of the weather service. The term "Artic", however, is purely a commercial construct, and so deserves absolute faith.

I believe that a true Arctic Front is heralded by a well-defined line of Malamutes riding a fairly husky wind.

Well to let you know George the front went past Houston last night.  How do I know?

Because I was able to walk from the front door to my truck at 4:45 am this morning and I did not sweat through my shirt.

You know what I end up pondering a lot?

... when we were in school from grade school through high school, teachers were always asking the class what they wanted to do for a living.

In the early years it was usually Policeman, Fireman, Farmer, Nurse, Teacher

As we got older it changed to Doctors, Lawyers, Policemen, Firemen and Accountants,

By the time I graduated in 1968 (height of Viet Nam war) quite a few were going to be a Marine, Army, Navy, Air Force

I never, ever, EVER remember ANYONE saying they wanted to be a WEATHER person. Where in the heck did all these weather dudes, weather babes and meteorologists come from ?        and aren't there any ugly ones?      :readit:
