A while ago I posted a couple threads regarding wooden arrows...how to build, gauging spine, feather choppers, self nocks and finishing.  I guess I posted quite a few threads actually.  The task of building wood arrows was something that I was totally foreign to but really wanted to see it through.  After some practice I seem to have a method that is working, but it is slow...which is fine.  I am really enjoying this new aspect of archery and want to thank everyone who helped along the way.

Here are a few pics I took this morning after giving my first completed arrow some air time.  The shaft is actually red balau which is a bit heavier than fir or cedar.  It hits hard.  The feathers were bought full length and chopped and the self nock is made from walnut.  The shot with the leaf is my first shot with that arrow at 22 yards...not bad!  Thanks again.

Looks pretty good, Bill.  I like your nock.
