I too have to see how it's done "Texas Style".

So even though I deal with pigs here in Florida most every day, those of us who love it, never get enough.

Two of us are going to Sabinal for a few days of hog hunting.

Then five of us are going to Marfa for five days of Peccary fun.

Can't wait.

Heard lots of good things about Texas.

And lots of good TradGang members from there.

Wish I had the skills of Bisch or Pat B.

Good luck, Britt.  Take some pics, make some memories and stick a pig!

I'm flying into San Antonio March 11th and I'm hoping to spend a couple days hunting, hopefully the 12th and 13th. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good trad friendly place to pig hunt, and possibly during the night?  I'm also toying with the idea of shooting a ram.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Nala

Where are you all going to hunt while here in Texas?

Have fun guys! In my opinion the triangle of Mason, Llano, and Fredericksburg is some of the prettiest country you'll find in Texas.  I'm a little biased, however.  If you get over to Llano eat BBQ at Cooper's.

Good luck! Chase

I'm leaving on the 25th and driving to Graham Tx for a week hunt.  Planning on arriving the 27th and meeting a friend that's flying out.  Had a good trip last year, got 2.
Here's one from last year, 11 yards on the ground.

Hey Britt, soaking that corn up is fine, but you really don't need to do that. Hogs have as good a nose as any critter you'll ever hunt, all that's really needed is just straight corn, they will find it just as fast as the stinky stuff and you don't have to deal with the smell or trouble with carrying it. If you just gotta add some smell, just use a pack of strawberry jello.
A little tip here for your bait. If you got room bring some post hole diggers, dig a hole as deep as you can and fill it with bait.
They will have to dig to get it, keeps them there longer for a better shot. Also they probably won't be able to get it all in one feeding, so they will come back later. It doesn't take a bunch of hungry hogs to clean up a pile of corn just laying on top of the ground.
 Good luck and shoot straight.
