Hi Folks,

Would you all give me names of bowyers that make a takedown bow that you can shoot both longbow limbs and recurve limbs on the same riser?  Also, I would appreciate your opinions and experiences with the bowyers who make them.

I am aware of the Toelke Lynx, but would like to hear about others.

Thanks!

Stalker Coyote, I have one with longbow limbs and absolutely love it. I have very little experience with South but have heard only good things about dealing with him. Next year I am planning on ordering a set of static recurve limbs.

Toelke Lynx
RER LX=XR
Dryad Orion
Stalker Coyote=Jackal
Morrison Cheyenne/Shawnee
Zipper SXT=Extreme/ Standard

Those are the ones off the top of my head.

Of course you could also consider ILF as well.

Anything ILF can use recurve or longbow limbs. Some don't work as well but there are tons of options out there.

Rick Welch makes both longbow and recurve limbs for his Dakota.  I will warn you, though, that every time I've gotten more than one set of limbs for a riser I end up using one while the other gathers dust in the closet, so I've stopped doing that.

You can switch recurve and longbow limbs on a Bob Lee. I'm not sure if all of their risers will interchange but I put my brother's longbow limbs on my recurve riser and they work great. Beau

I can vouch for the RER.  I have an LX now and hope to add a set of recurve limbs to it in the future.

Thanks for your replies, so far.  Also, I am not interested in ILF or metal risers.

Most of the bows/bowyers I can think of have already been named.

Looks like Mike Mecredy "Maddog Bows" just released a new T/D called the Backpacker that will accept both longbow and recurve limbs.

Firefly T/D by Jim Jones has one of the best feeling grips I've ever felt and is offered in both limbs.

Hill Country Bobcat by Roman Hershberger is another option too.

Belcher, which seems to also be Sky Archery.  I really like the riser/grip and longbow limbs.  The recurve limbs were part of the package trade- also very nice.
