I did a little story about my hunt this morning with my Howard Hill gear so here we go with my hunt this evening. I don't have many pics because it got dark on me but my new HH gear did me well again. This hunt wasn't quite as the Hard Way as my doe from this morning , with a shift of the winds to the south I wanted to hunt a tree stand I have never say in. The only change in my gear tonight was a different wool coat the one I wore was one given to me by my in-laws. Even though the wind was now from the south it was still cold as all get out and about froze my fingers off. I'm sitting in camp in front of the ol Dearborn heated warming up about to get me a cup of coffee......

Here is a pic of my camo that I wore for this hunt and now that I can feel my fingers again here we go...

Ok as I said I chose a tree stand I have been wanting to hunt and it paid off just as soon as I got settled in the deer started moving. And as it goes the first 3 deer that walk in are good bucks and this is our late doe and spike season and I don't have a buck tag left for this county anyway. It was fun watching them and all three offered me shots then off the hill came a spike buck but he never gave me a chance at him. I had deer all around me and could hardly even blink at times , it's about 4:00pm and I stood holding my bow the whole time. My hands would take turns holding my bow and freezing while one would go in a pocket for a short warm up then switch out. After a while I spoted a few doe walking in from a bad wind direction but they never caught my scent and ended up about 12yds and it seemed like a long long time until a nice young doe offered me a nice quatering away shot. And again my new gear sent a yellow feathered shaft right where it needed to go , she bucked up and tore out for about a 65yd dash and wend down in sight. Another fine outing with a back quiver full of wood arrows and longbow in hand......

I sat for a while longer cause I still have one tag in my pocket but nothing else came in. It has been a great day with two clean kills with my new Hill gear only prob is both my arrows got broke in the deal. I'm going out in the morning for one more run at em it's still cold and I hear we are to have a winter mix storm in the morning. I will be out in it rain or snow....

Had to post both pics I like the sky in the one pic....
