Does the big shot crossover shoot like a tab?

Hey fellas,

I have been wanting to shoot a tab for a long time for the cleaner release but just can not do it, either my face or fingers gets abused.

My question is, does the big shot crossover have a cleaner release like a tab because of the reinforced/slick tips???

My other thought was to sew a tab (trimmed really short were it would normally hurt my fingers not face)to a Damascus glove, any thoughts on that?

Thanks

i don't know whether it shoots like a tab (my gut answer is not really), but it gives a great release. i love mine, and believe it to be worth every penny. it has held up well for a couple of years, and i consider one of my best investments ever made in gear.

I just bought a crossover last week and I have been really enjoying it. It is a great piece of equipment. SS

Would you guys say it gives a cleaner release then a standard glove?

I would agree with the above comments totally.  I also offer I have trouble shooting tabs like you do.  So for me this IS the best and cleanest release I can get.

I love it BTW.

Was the tab trimmed down correctly to fit your fingers ? The only reason I ask is because if you have trouble shooting a tab it could be because of your release, or the tab doesn't fit.

Also to answer your question, in my opinion,  no the glove does not release as smooth as tab.

It's a great glove if you don't want to feel the string very much. It's what I use, clean release for a glove.  I picked up a little speed too as measured by the indoor archery video shoot compared to other gloves.

The Bigshot gloves are absolutely A1 quality. I have had 2 of them, and you cannot wear one out.

I did go back to a tab recently, but that's me....I am not capable of a clean release with a glove. If you CAN shoot a glove, any of the Bigshot products are the right choice.

Been shooting a Crossover for a couple months, great glove, well worth the money.

For those of you who use this glove, would it be quite a change to go from a Damascus glove to this one?  I'm looking for something that gives a bit more finger protection, but I can't seem to find anything that I shoot as well as the Damascus gloves.  I'm tired of replacing them, cause they don't last long.

The big shot Crossover is one of the best finds I have encountered in traditional gear.  For me it is perfect.  I get clean releases with it.  I didn't get good releases with the damascus glove.  I don't feel the string like I could with the damascus, but the string seems to slide better across the glove inserts sandwiched between the leather.  The buffalo leather is good stuff.

Wanting to try one, but hesitant because they are pricey.

I hear you Paul... $70 for a glove sounds crazy, but hey Christmas is just around the corner lol

after about 10,000 shots threw my american leather big shot it still looks like the day i got it, cleanest release i ever had, it goes on so easy and feels so comfortable that i sometimes forget its on. tabs are great for some but not for me, all i do is slap myself in the lip, rich pyle

I can't shoot tabs, either.  I called them today to verify my size.  Still thinking about it.

Been shooting a Big Shot for several years now and picked up a Crossover last year.
Anybody else have a hard time getting a deeper hook using the crossover?  The inserts are pretty stiff and after several hundred arrows they've remained so.
